I looked at several videos for installing a drop ceiling. Your video was the first I could fully comprehend! You have a gift for teaching. You added nothing I didn't need to hear and enough detail to understand. You did not leave out any detail. Thank you so much.

Great video. Never ceases to amaze me how people bash others when they make videos like this. Kudos to you for taking the time to make a detailed video and subject your work to the criticism of others. I have yet to find a single instructional video in which people don't have derogatory comments to leave.
The purpose of the video is to show DIY'ers how to put a drop ceiling with basic hand tools they would have it home. I think he succeeded in that respect. I had no idea how to put one up, and based on what I've seen I feel comfortable enough to install one in a room I have.
    Thanks for the help!

I watched this video a few years ago when I was asked to do two drop ceilings for my daughter. After scouring you tube for help, I finally found Shannon’s channel. I did two ceilings that were as perfect as a professional would do, and it was a breeze thanks to Shannon. It helped that I was a drywall finisher and knew how to walk on stilts, made it very quick putting up the grid. So I’m here watching this just for the fun of it, brings back good memories. Oh ya, I’m also watching a few videos on installing a new vanity that was also excellent. Shannon is a good man and deserves the Nobel peace prize for his contribution to humanity. Well, a sincere thank you anyway!!!

You are a fine craftsman. It's the details you included in your work i.e. the notching of the partial tile to make it sit evenly, the marking on the wall ABOVE the edge of the grid--makes all the difference in the finished product. If only more "professional" installers were as diligent as you, everything would be better! Thanks for your great info.

Hi Shannon, I wanted to sincerely Thank you for this great video. My daughter has been waiting for months on the guy who was supposed to do her kids new bedrooms, he finally just cancelled, So it was up to me to do it. I was a union taper and worked on big commercial jobs, and worked with tin snips a lot cutting metal corner bead, control joints, flex bead, you name it. So working with the ceiling grid and making cuts was a snap. Plus, having stilts was a big plus as I did everything on them. It went very fast, and it turned out beautiful. Level and professional. I used tiles with a recessed edge like you did, and they were beautiful. But without your video, I would have been screwed. I watched every video on RUclips, and learned very little until I watched yours. Thanks man, totally in debt to you.

Great tutorial. I just purchased an old factory building that I am going to be refurbishing. I have a feeling that I am going to be doing a lot of drop ceiling work. Thanks for posting this video. Very informative!

Such an informative video, thanks so much for sharing. I'm going to try to do this myself in the basement this spring.

With no prior training or barely reading other instructions, this video got my suspended ceiling done almost perfectly. Awesome. I will add that the visible surface of the ceiling tile I used (Armstrong 932) was highly sensitive to nicks but over time I became better at using a smooth cut with a sharp blade guided by a clamped straight edge and that kept the nicks and gouges to a minimum. Excellent video though.

Thank you for such great videos Shannon (and camera man). I have been working on projects around my house for about a year and always end up watching your videos for clarification and troubleshooting. I appreciate your attention to detail, tool recommendations and covering/explaining the issues that may arise along the way. I just subscribed and will continue to use your videos as long as I am doing projects! Good stuff sir!!
