just bought my first bmw a month ago, 05 zhp vert with 144k miles and love it. already put 1k miles on it and am very satisfied. sorta regretting paying extra for the zhp considering i could've bought a cheaper regular 330i and put the extra couple grand into one with less miles to make it like this zhp but more custom. oh well. i love it and will def own it for awhile.

Some flaws on the analysis. ZHP had a 3.07 final drive making it a "taller" rear end. M-Sport, was a thing but ZHP (and Canadian ZCP) had all the things the M-Sport had and more... The aforementioned Cams, quicker Steering rack and CF cube trim to name a few.
Looks like exactly the one I have in sweden except I also have folding rear seats (different chassis if you have rear folding or not), sunroof and individual leather seats and navigation. Love the gray color, it never looks dirty!
i believe since the e46s the MT versions has the CDV (Clutch delay valve) that at least according to most people ruins the shifting and rev matching but i suppose the owner removed it
Can confirm that CDVs are one of the causes of manuals dying. I’ve had to remove it on 6 BMWs and just recently on a 3rd GTI. These things cause premature clutch wear, jerkiness and make a experienced driver feel like a noob. If you’ve got a manual transmission vehicle from recent years, check to see if you have it.
Is that why I have such a hard time rev matching my friends E46 when I borrow it. It frustrates me because either it drop revs or it holds revs I never know which it’s going to do. I like everything else about the car except the throttle.
I thought I was the only one who noticed the slouchy pedal. The general consensus was “that’s just how drive by wire is”. Maybe this car still has the dual mass though? Mine has a single and seems to rev a bit quicker.

The ZHP have bigger cams, a shorter final drive (3.07), a quicker steering rack, slightly stiffer sway bars and revised damping, when compared with an EU-spec M-Sport or M-Tech model.

I love the ZHP, but when I had the chance to buy this and an E39 540I M-Sport with a manual, I went E39. The V8 is a gem !

@@ridge9066 early e46s had throttle by cable the later ones had by wire so the body was electronic

The passenger seats on the coupe has 2, one on both sides. Those are m3 seats from an e46 coupe which is why it has those levers.
I've never seen a special option long throw shift option - I must be missing something as my short throw is perfect.
