Every time a product is down sized people are led to think it’s the economy. The news never explains that the ceo and cfo long ago wanted more money so they buy new machines to produce smaller products, requiring millions be spent. New packaging must be made , new manufacturing machines must be built, but that money goes into some secret part of the cost of business. The board of directors and stock holders love the up tic in profits ,there isn’t any marketing on the downsized product ,it’s only discussed in public if there is a scapegoat that needs to be blamed . The top 1% of the country love that the rest of us are kept in the dark and lied to, not to mention cheated out of a livable wage , but told we all need “tic tacs” or a thousand other products in a new smaller convenient size , same price or maybe 15% more. I'm pretty sure the onomatopoeic TicTac Mini Packs were introduced because they were cute in a period where smaller packaging where proportionately scaled mini versions looked cool, but were almost always more expensive than the regular size price per unit content.
The US economy does not have a sizable segment of the population that live on a daily basis, if this is the case where your daily wage is paid out at the end of each day, then most everything we need to buy would be in sachets. On the contrary, we buy in bulk or wholesale, nothing cute here. Those TicTacs are novelty and they are cute.
