- Part 2 of 3 - A day at the Pinnacles, The trails are a bit beat up because of the heavy Monsoon Rains the area had last summer (2022). Beautiful end of Fall day, With amazing views of the Pinnacles and the surrounding area. The VW Bus AKA "oOak" did a great job traveling over the washboard roads. I moaned & groaned through the whole video. It was like rolling down a mountain in a steel drum. Hey all smiles, I wouldn't want it any other way. Peace! BTW Part 3 is next week. - Larry

Good day Larry. What a contrast! I spent the day in a winter wonderland running a locomotive watching my mates sweep snow out of the switches. I had to laugh when you realized you had the heat on. Love the sounds of you bus as you negotiate the rough terrain, makes it all the more real. Too busy to comment on your previous video, but as always I hit the like button. I went last May on my way to Death ValleyJunction. . Was like a 100 degrees and I couldn't get up in like that due to vehicle. Excellent drone work! So otherworldly. Subscribed!
May is a little late in the season. February through the end of April is the best. The desert bloom is beautiful. But, the Mega bloom is phenomenal! Yeah, I like flowers! :o)

It's stock, 1966. No locker, I had to change my line to make it up to the top. All you need is a Superdiff and go a little faster. Have a good weekend!
What is that passenger side hatch, was this set up as a food vendor van? Never seen that…?
It's made by Westfalia (SO1 Conversion) as a factory option. In Germany, open-air markets were popular back in the 1950s. The VW option pamphlets show a bus with a bakery-style interior. In the VW Bus world, it's called a VW Bus Salesflap.
