I can’t stop watching this. This whole scene breaks my heart but also shows how much Derek loves Meredith and how hard it is for him to give up on her no matter the consequence.
it was so easy for derek to walk away from his marriage with addison, but with meredith, he is sticking around even if their vows are on a post it, and she is driving him insane.
geniusfollower it wasn’t easy for him to walk away because when she came to Seattle he tried to work it out with her even though she slept with his best friend
Aalaa Basheer when mark showed up in Seattle and was just talking to Meredith he gets punched in the face when Derek sees his wife and mark in bed he runs to Seattle. He only chose to try and work it out with adddison because he admitted he wasn’t present in their marriage and wanted to try again. It didn’t work obviously and his love for Meredith is way more then with Addison
Addison did worse. So, it makes sense that he found it easier to walk away from her. Addison had an affair with his best friend. As far as I'm concerned, their should have been no coming back from that. He never should have left Meredith when Addison showed up in Seattle. Addison got more than she deserved, as much as I like her character.
@@kianadoescod6402 Its not that he loved her more than Addison it’s that no matter what they forgave each other for everything regardless of how bad it was. Another thing is that it wasn’t easy for Derek to walk away from his marriage to Addison, they were together for 11 years give or take a few and when she presented the papers he refrained from signing them because of their time together. He drove Meredith into a drinking frenzy during this time as well, he promised her he would sign the papers and he never did til something set them both off.
"I know that you took her to protect her. I know you altered the trial for Adele and for Richard. You stood in front of the bullet for me. And I know why you do all of that. That's what I love about you." "And what you hate about me...." "Yeah...."
A lot of what Derek says is so true. Whereas I love Meredith for the same reasons he does, she didn't take the emotional responsibility for her actions and wasn't BEING sorry about it(rather than just saying sorry). Which is hard when she doesn't regret her actions completely. Such a powerful couple scene with multi-dimensions.
John Rea Meredith might have done it for consider reasons towards Richard and Adele but she was very selfish when it came to Derek. She didn’t think how Derek would’ve felt or how it would look on him as a doctor.
Not to mention, part of the reason why Derek did the Alzheimer's trial is because of Meredith. He feared that she might inherit the disease from Ellis.
Ik this comment is 8 yrs old but honestly I am mad at both of them here. You remember when Derek reported Richard to the board. Meredith was mad at him, yet she supported him. And here, he just can't seem to stop screaming. Ik, Meredith took some awful judgement calls but they definitely jumped into adopting Zola without thinking any of it through. They could've both done better here.
@@rookiemonster646 It's what Derek's mom said that Mer sees everything in gray and Derek needed that. Mer made some terrible decisions but are neither right nor wrong. and i guess Derek couldnt see that she did it for Webber and all he could think is that she sabotaged her. I remember they were wondering if Adele gets the placebo and Derek said it's what she'll get cos they dont have a choice. However, i think this problem is bound to happen, working while being married. Work problems getting into the relationship
@@mwuahugz1115 I think Derek doesn't trust Meredith with herself and the consequences of the risks she takes generally fall on the shoulders fo the people who love her, namely him.
I said he was an ass and that he wasnt being McDreamy but now that he got to TALK and to finally explain himself and his feelings i can understand that he is just hurt and he is trying to deal with it, im kinda proud of him... And of Mer too for rocking that surgery :D

i never thought that my favorite scene so far in season 8 was a fighting scene but that was amazing. i think they both have a point. i heard that the whole Shepard familt is coming to visit in an upcoming episode. i wonder if being with the family will bring them back together?
Yeah because unlike Jim and Pam they aren't as fun when they are actually together. It's all just angsty and annoying. And you realize the best couple was calzona.
i can't believe that some people don't like this scene! I mean people need to be a little more patient. try watching castle that will help you with patience.
I absolutely hate the fact that Meredith had to give up neuro because of Derek. Hate it. She was a natural at it and she had to give up neuro. Maybe she messed up the trial but losing Zola was not all her fault. Who asked Derek to sleep on the deck the first time they got Zola?! Yeah, he was pissed at Meredith for ruining the trial but that doesn't mean he should sleep on the deck the day they got Zola. Had he not been sleeping on the deck, there wouldn't have been inconsistencies in Meredith's story the next day at daycare when Janet came to see Zola. They were both equally at fault in losing Zola. I hate Derek for indirectly making Meredith give up neuro. Hate that. She was a natural at it damn it. She would've been a brilliant neurosurgeon.
Well it's greys anatomy....the easy solution would be either Derek or Meredith change hospital and continue to work in nuero but Shonda is Shonda and Greys don't use logic!!!😅
Actually those who say she didn't get her consequence she did, coz she gave up Neuro which is what she wanted to do since she joined seattle grace as an intern, for almost 2 months her and Richard were never allowed in the OR, plus the Resentment that Derek gave her it was enough.
I always say this ...yes he worded it wrong and was shouting it but what he's saying is facts she never took emotional responsibility for her actions and always thought when she did something wrong she did it seeing it only form her eyes but not the eyes of anybody else and to see that Richard too the blame and if it were any other resident he wouldn't and never liked meredith but I love merder and the fact the she never stop doing it pisses me off
