Francis Jeffers is another who fell victim to the Everton curse.
There is also Oscar who had a good career at Chelsea but then went to China in his mid 20s which killed any chance of him winning the Champions League or World Cup but he seemed happy to do it for the money.

If Anthony Martial played against Everton each week he would be one of the world's best players. He always scored against Everton.

This one might be harsh but I would put Shaun Wright-Phillips on the list. Like Tom, had a famous footballer as a father. Was a great winger at City, moved to Chelsea to kick on his career but just fizzled out.

Like Johnson, Ireland had trouble off the pitch. Partner suffered a miscarriage while he was on international break and had to withdraw from the squad. The media lambasted him because he said that his grandmother passed away, despite both being alive. Never got called up to an Ireland squad again

As a Liverpool fan I'd have to put Owen and Fowler on there. For me growing up watching Fowler destroy the league at such a young age made me think he could become one of the worlds best strikers. His debut season at 18 he scored 12 Premier League goals, then 25, then 28, then 18 and then he was out for almost a season with an injury and when he came back he was just never able to stay off the treatment table for the rest of his career. But... His injury forced us to fast track a 17 year old Michael Owen into the first team and in his debut season he won the PL golden boot. Then that summer he goes to the world cup at 18 and becomes one of the stars of the tournament. Then in his second PL season he wins the golden boot again! All of this by the age of 19! And then in his third season he snaps his hamstring and he's also is never able to stay fit again after that injury. Owen did do better than Fowler and even won a ballon d'or at 21 but he himself says that injury lowered his ceiling massively. Changed him for maybe becoming one of the best strikers ever to just ending up one of the best in the Premier League until by his late 20's the constant hamstring injures effectively finished him. Just imagine they both stayed fit? 😭 It's every fans dream for your academy to produce a superstar striker and we got two in the space of a few years and they both failed to reach anything close to what they should have been 😞

Micah Richards has said that him and Roberto Mancini always got on really well, to the point where he was actually gutted when Mancini was sacked. The main reason Pablo Zabaleta got put in the starting eleven over him was because Zabaleta was better than they expected - City had originally signed him as a backup for Micah and they actually didn't rate him that highly at first. Micah also got offered a huge 5 year contract to stay at Man City in 2015, but he turned it down because he wanted to be a first choice player (the contract stipulated that he would be number 2 to Zabaleta).
Basically, Micah's potential died out because Pablo Zabaleta was too good :P.

Martial is not somewhat loved by United fans, we hate him.
