  • Band: The Doors
Album: The Very Best of The Doors
    Release date: 2001
    Track number: 17
    Genre: Psychedelic Rock
    Lyrics:
    Well, show me the way
    To the next whiskey bar
    Oh, don't ask why
    Oh, don't ask why
    Show me the way
    To the next whiskey bar
    Oh, don't ask why
    Oh, don't ask why
    For if we don't find
    The next whiskey bar
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you, I tell you
I tell you we must die
    Oh, moon of Alabama
    We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whiskey, oh, you know why
    Oh, moon of Alabama
    We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whiskey, oh, you know why
    Well, show me the way
    To the next little girl
    Oh, don't ask why
    Oh, don't ask why
    Show me the way
    To the next little girl
    Oh, don't ask why
    Oh, don't ask why
    For if we don't find
    The next little girl
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you, I tell you
I tell you we must die
    Oh, moon of Alabama
    We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whiskey, oh, you know why

My neighbors are alcoholics and I often hear them arguing through my thin walls. For some reason, I started to turn this song on when it becomes unbearable. If someone would eventually read this, wish me luck. I'll move to a better place someday)))

its 2008 and my dads playing this in the garage, the smell of oil and gasoline fills my young nose. i hear the clanking of parts being put on his 1949 pan head. little did i know that the doors would play a huge role in my life after that. thank you dad for raising me on good music!!!

My mom used to love the Doors (RIP mom) she passed in 2020 at 57, however I'm only aware of the Doors because of her. I was walking through Tampa Airport and something reminded me of this song. I literally listened to it atleast ten times in a row. I am thoroughly entertained by it.

I'll never forget seeing The Doors of the 21st century. Ian Astbury really does a fantastic job of recreating Morrison's mannerisms and voice. I wish I was alive to see Jim but hearing this song in concert with Ian as their front was an amazing experience. Everybody was bopping up and down to the beat. Such a great song!

They were unlike any other band of the 60s, they stuck out like a sore thumb. Just their debut album alone was enough to cast / cement them as classic gold, diamond immortal music. Jim was a intellectual with a genius IQ, he was a poet, never intending on being a singer of a rock band. a accident in time that happened to have had the luck of having 3 musicians to create soundtrack for his poetry , and all 4 having the luck of coming together as the Doors .

Great song! Reminds me last summer. Swimming at the beach of Flanders. The wind was blowing hard from the seaside, the surge hardly allowed you to swim. Yet so what... I was taking the challenge and even got off the breaking waves to regions farther away from the beach Great feeling, beeing lifted up and down from the waves, that were way more tender there. Like flying... Suddenly, the song 'Whiskey Bar' came into my mind, maybe because the rhythm of the vivid waves I had to overcome. That song led me away to the time I was at varsity... So I was going on swimming... But suddenly a coastguard guy in a dinghi interrupted my lovely memory by gruffly ordering me to turn back to the beach. Not in Flemish, but in English and French. Turning to the shore it took two or three waves to throw me back ashore. The coastgard boy still was earlier at the beach. Before I was able to ask him, why he ordered me back in English and French he told me, that I might be a good swimmer but a landlubber and an unexperienced tourist. Of course I was aware my swimming was stupidly daring. But 'Whiskey Bar' made me remember great times. Are the doors 'dangerous'? Anyway, their fascination seems to go on...

Show me the way, to the next whiskey bar
Oh, don't ask why, oh, don't ask why
For if we don't find, the next whiskey bar
I tell you we must die, i tell you we must die

@Vicente René the original anonymous creator actually never used illegal images involving kids (and i think he didnt even use gore if i remember the gameplay correctly, dont quote me on that) however he did use the part of this song that says "show me the way to the next little girl" and looped it, this along with certain shit used in the game like the little girl in the hallway and dialogue from people like jimmy saville, the famous tv pedophile, give me the idea that the game was just an incredibly fucked up art project about child abuse and humanity as a whole which is probably why the game is called sad satan, you play as satan roaming the earth watching people suffer, also the version of the game with the illegal images about children that was posted to 4chan was probably never intended to even be played as it was filled with viruses that would just brick most systems and as far as i know, nobody ever reported getting it to work from start to finish, plus it was most likely made by someone completely different possibly with the intent of being a dick and costing people a new system + getting them in trouble for downloading illegal content. so yeah, fuck the dude that made the second "game" but even today you can download the clean fanmade version and watch the original gameplay just fine. just thought i would give some insight into the illegal version that is disliked and the use of whiskey bar.
