Soudal soudafix chemical anchors do no damage to the substrate and allow for closer to edge fixings if necessary but please remember with close to edge fixing that the fixing is only as strong as the concrete or substrate the chemical anchor is infact stronger in most cases than the substrate. Because chemical anchors styrene or styrene free do not expand after application like a conventional fixing method they put no additional stress on the concrete or substrate around the hole, the load is also evenly distributed across the complete surface area of the driller hole so larger than the threaded rod or anchor fixing, this makes it possible to fix close to the edge of the concrete without the risk of cracking, also gives a better fixing into softer materials or frail old stone and cement walls.
