I have the exact same holster for my Glock 19. After having it for about a year and a few months here are my thoughts. It is a great looking holster for sure and I love the build quality. In so far as breaking it in, I've tried the plastic bag nonsense for 48 hours, still hard to get out. Tried it again for 72 hours, same result. Hell, I even left it there for a week with that silly plastic bag it came in and still can't get a smooth draw (it has turned into a wrestling match between myself and the holster). I appreciate retention, but when the retention is to the detriment of the person having to draw from this holster, that is where I have to draw the line. I went ahead and slathered the thing with boot conditioner and that did the trick. And I agree that this technique significantly reduced retention, therefore I only use this holster around my property. I would never ever consider using this holster out in the "real world." It is simply not designed for that for the reasons mentioned above. After all, in a stressful situation if you can't get the gun out, then it's like not having a gun at all. I still do love my holster because it does look good and it is very comfortable, especially for house carry.
Depending on how dirty you get it, I've seen people use a lot of things. Leather upholstery cleaners are one example. Here's a few options: amzn.to/3WW1Zd1

Renisance wax is a good protected for leather
That cam work if there's not a sealant on it already
