Cats pass all their life training/playing their skills: attacking, jumping, stalking,... with whatever objects they find. "Victims" are leaves, insects, the "unfortunate" owners, pencils,... I have seen a cat "hunting" a bulldozer! 🤪
It is not strange that they are so effective getting prey.

Simple answer... Yes. More complicated answer... Sometimes. We have found bits of a rat or bits of a bird. We also suspect what a cat leaves the fox sometimes finishes off.
