It would be a dream, but it will never happen. Warner Bros. purposely buried the show after what happened. They're culpable for her death. Her killer came to the Burbank studio multiple times and NO ONE from security or corporate took action. They didn't even tell Rebecca she was being stalked! They're partly responsible for her murder for not protecting her.

I remember how sadly tragic this was especially as her TV character had been so sweet and vital. It was hard to process that this pretty and cheery young person met such an ugly violent and sudden end.
Back then I was of an age where I hadn't yet experienced the loss of any close relatives who I felt like I knew. Only geographically removed extended family. This person that I had watched and enjoyed a few light comedic minutes from through a sitcom was my first sense of losing someone in a small way.
Though I've only encountered minor celebrities and a few politicians or significant public figures in my life, I never pester them or even try to snag a selfie. With one exception I've never initiated a conversation because I realize they deserve to have their personal space respected when off the job.
Stalkers need to be taken under professional control. We still treat the stalker thing like it's just playful hijinx or whatever. It's not.

Rebecca Schaeffer was one of a kind! An authentic person that never saw herself as a celebrity figure but more so a working actress living her dreams and I don't think she would have sold out later on if she had lived much longer, because she was so dedicated to her religious beliefs and connected with the most high. Very natural, and upbeat.
Until this psychotic demonic wolf in sheep clothing hunted her down and took her life because of his own evil obsessions and what he saw of a person on TV. He may have escaped the death penalty, but he won't escape judgment which is gonna be a bad one when his time comes because he's being spiritually tortured which is even worse. So he'll burn in the lake of fire when he faces the Lord. And so would his family!
She's in a better place in the spirit world, so she's at peace and doesn't have to deal with this evil sick world... May her beautiful soul Rest In Paradise! X

If you think stronger gun laws was the solution to your daughter's murder, you learned nothing and your daughter died in vain. Good people also buy firearms and use them to protect themselves and others. They aren't running around murdering others. Shocking that all these years later, the father still doesn't get the fact that the man could have easily stabbed his daughter to death. Untreated mental illness is the root problem.

Could it have saved her? In Australia, after the Port Arthur massacre (35 lost their lives) in Tasmania; gun control became a lot tighter, however just searching now, it seems we have over 3 million guns here (pop about 22mil). I think it is only a matter of time before we see more gun deaths in Australia. They used to say we were always 10 years behind the US and we're already past that timeframe......

I sympathize with Mr. Schaeffer and Pam Dawber and believe in thorough background checks and that "second-person" gun sales (buying a weapon for someone else) should be held accountable if death results. However, as a gun owner myself, I still advocate that any person who is responsible should have the right to protect themselves. Police can't be everywhere and we have just seen at that church shooting in Texas that a good person with a gun made a difference and saved lives. This is not a perfect world so there are no perfect solutions. Guns are a powerful responsibility and I take it as such.

Sometime around the year 2000, there was a radio talk show that was dealing with this subject but called this a domestic violence act. I called in to the show and told them this was no domestic violence, and the guy said "well, they were in a relationship, weren't they?" and I said, "only in his mind."

Or how about we make a mandatory male psychology test, you know a modern version of the testing ancient greeks used on newborns..............the defective ones are put to sleep...........and make the test mandatory every 5 years or so...............stalkers need to be charged just like a murderer.............they kill the person they are stalking s life..............i had to give up my home, leave the state i had lived in for 20 years, some of the best people i have ever known.......why?? well just like rebecca schaerffer the cops won't do dick until and i quote "something happens" aka you are physically attacked or murdered. So the only other choice was to move "at least 3 states away"..... Threatening to murder someone/sending others to also threaten your life is peachy fucking keen until then................i remember her death along with a few regular women i have known who were also murdered by their stalkers.........justice???? yeah none of that.

If Greeks did a test of any sort like that it’s to weed out the weak, what you have left after endless training is violent men that would kill without hesitation.. You are judging every male according to you’re life’s experience, not ever male is an animal, women can be violent as well should we weed them out

I know how you feel. I was only 2 years old when Rebecca Schaeffer died and never heard of that crime or 'My Sister Sam' until I grew up. But of course we are all sad that such a beautiful rising star was gone too soon before she even became famous.

After all this time and I don't believe it's gotten better, which must be so frustrating for the countless people touched by gun crime. I knew she was young, but only 21?! In the grand scheme of things, she was just a baby. I remember how naïve I was at that age. Such a tragic waste.

We all miss Rebecca, her family and Pam handled it soo well with her death. Humans can be so cruel, why is it so easy to get a hold of a gun? We have people who can professionally handle guns to hunt food and fend off wrong doings, so why does the public get permission? I want somthing to be done about this and I want it done soon, not in another fifty years when thousands more people have been fatally shot.

So terribly sad. I think it would be a good thing to have strict gun laws but to totally take them away? I think that would just make the problem much much worse. I don’t know what the answer is, I wish there was one.
