Yeah this “neon chartreuse pearl”nos truly truly truly a unique gem. I think if a color is this unique, I would be ok working with a finicky formula. It’s not like a bad basic pink we can get anywhere else. This one is kinda special (for whoever likes pearls). Def worth the struggle!

Hi Larissa -- I love watching your hands gesture as you talk about these polishes. Your personality really shines through. I lol'd at "just throw it away"!! I've rarely done that with a bottle of polish -- maybe a couple of times in my 10-year hobby of nail polish. I think those were those terrible old Essies. It's very unusual for OPI to have such awful formulas throughout an entire collection -- thank you for saving me some money!!!

Your reviews are my favorite! What a bummer of a collection though. This collection had me a bit excited because of the color story, but I have too many polishes to deal with annoying formulas. I don’t mind doing 3 coats of a polish as long as it’s a smooth process, but these don’t sound promising. As a huge OPI collector, I usually pick up one bottle from every collection no matter what though and I think I might have to go with either Makeout-Side (haven’t picked up a pink lately) or maybe step out of my “I hate pearl polishes” mindset and try Bikini Boardroom.

I don’t even remember, I feel like some of their spring/summer have not been super amazing, but nothing this bad. There’s something about the matte + quick dry aspect, that just wasn’t it for me. The experience wasn’t good lmao - but the end results are super gorgeous so I was so sad 😭😭😭 - I just think that if I struggled, imagine a beginner. No way I can wholeheartedly recommend this (except a chosen few). 💔

I have three of them, charge it to their room, I’m yacht leaving and skate to the party and I love them! They need two coats but it dry so quickly that it is actually worth it. It’s been a long time since I last bought OPI so I don’t know how much they improuve their formula since (those I have are not my favorite nail polish far from it so they must have improuve) but those three are really nice to apply and to wear (with a base and a top coat, they last at least 5 days looking flawless for me and I’m a manual worker). So is it typical for OPI to dry that fast and to last that long? I’m looking to buy some other color if that is the case but not from the same collection that’s why I’m really interested to know. Thank you.
This collection doesn’t have a typical OPI formula at all. The latest Barbie collection has amazing formulas but these do not (in my opinion)… so I guess it depends on each person’s preference.
What is up with our favorite brands’ summer releases?? Janixa’s review of China Glaze’s summer collection was similar to this one! How disappointing! I will probably take a chance on Sunscreen and Surf because they are so unique and I like pearl finishes (sometimes). Thanks for the honest review. ❤
OPI was sooo close with this collection! The color story is fabulous and the colors individually chosen are strong and I like the mix of creams and pearls. But I think they're decision to make them all a satin finsh is what hurt this collection in terms of performance. While I really appreciate OPI thinking outside the box and going for something new and different, I believe the chemistry of the satin finish is what's causing the issues everyone is having. While I will probably pick up Skate To The Party and I'm Yacht Leaving, I'm definitely skipping the rest. So, so, so close...😢
I agree. The satin finish + the fact that they r quick dry (which is prob part of the satin finish), makes them just not enjoyable to work with and causes unnecessary streaks! Add to that mix a couple ridges on a nail or a person that’s a beginner, and this collection really just won’t be it for a lot of people. What a shame!
Thank you for your honesty about this ghastly collection. Most reviews I've seen have been along the lines of yours, but a couple of larger/well known accounts are saying the polishes are all opaque in two coats, great formula blah blah. Either OPI are sending out two different formulas, or some reviewers are being dishonest (paid to be?). I know we can rely on you Larissa for the truth 😊
I can almost (almosssst) guarantee, that OPI is not paying anyone 😂 however maybe for some people their nails are smoother than mine. I don’t know because I haven’t seen many reviews yet just only like 2 and they agreed with my view for the most part. Now, one thing to note is that swatchers can make ANYTHING work. When I review however I’m having other people in mind and specially thinking of beginners, because again, experienced people can make anything work and a bad formula won’t be a problem for them. ❤️
Thank you for your honest review. I just got the entire collection last week, I have not tried them yet. The colors are so beautiful it saddens me that the formula is terrible. I wonder if it was a cost efficient decision for OPI . As long as they have been in business you would expect them to nail their formulas 😢

I mean, a lot goes into it, for example, the state of your nails. Ridgy nails will give you a bigger struggle. I saw PhoebeMoon’s review and she got them all opaque and even in 2 coats and she is wearing a gel overlay, giving her a smoother surface for example. Maybe if ur nails r not ridgy like mine, u won’t struggle! 🥰
The color story is perfect so that disappointing to hear about the formula. The Orly summer box just came out and 4 out of 6 are pearls and seemingly great formula on my one finger swatch. Thanks Larissa!

For me, the formula has to be good, easy to apply, because i consider my self beginner. Im good with always trying any colour, even type of finish, but i dont want a polish i have to struggle with. Lol Thank you for this truthful video. I appreciate it :)

"This is an imposter" ha ha! That sounds about accurate. So strange that the have changed their formula and they are all worse. Also, can OPI please make a nice rounded flat paddle brush already? They are one of the most well known and popular brands in the world and they continue to have the crappiest brush. If I find a dupe for an OPI colour I will always buy the dupe, because that OPI brush is so disappointing. Opi, get with the times and upgrade your brush!
It seems like we had the same problem with last year's opi summer collection, streaky and drying too fast to be able to fix anything. The colors I would want have the worst formulas, again. I guess this isn't for me!

I just want to make sure people know before hand that the formulas are a little tricky, before they buy, and not get surprises! They r something you can work with if a color is calling your name, but the swatch videos make it look very good and hide imperfections sometimes so I don’t want anyone to get a bad surprise once a polish gets home! 🤣

Yeah, I was bummed 😭 even if I can make them work, I kinda don’t wanna lol part of polishing should be the experience of the painting being joyful, and I don’t wanna struggle (unless the color is something that just killed me and I had to have it haha)
@@PolishLabRat I’ve found myself gravitating to formulas that are easy to apply or brands that offer the wide rounded brush. Essie gel couture has been super reliable. And kbshimmer spring plant collection has been easy to apply and fun to wear. 😍
Honestly I think this is great, OPI has made me save a lot of money in 2022 and 2023 so far. I hope they keep making horrible polishes so I don't feel tempted to buy anything else from them.

I actually liked the pearl blue! It gives such soft sky vibes ☺️ it’s unique to me, so that makes it worth it!
My two favorites are the pearly 💙💜. Beautiful color story, such a shame about the formulas. The comparisons are a great addition too😊💗
I mean, 2/4 pearls were very solid. Just the pearly streaks but that’s normal. Good opacity and not much bold spots or anything 👍🏼

I don't think this change is permanent, i think it's for this collection only (at least I hope :) - and yes, the brush could be better! haha

I like Pearl finishes but not in pastels. It’s a different collection for them. Too bad their formulas are not user friendly this time around.
Yeah, I was bummed 😭 even if I can make them work, I kinda don’t wanna lol part of polishing should be the experience of the painting being joyful, and I don’t wanna struggle (unless the color is something that just killed me and I had to have it haha)
@@PolishLabRat I’ve found myself gravitating to formulas that are easy to apply or brands that offer the wide rounded brush. Essie gel couture has been super reliable. And kbshimmer spring plant collection has been easy to apply and fun to wear. 😍

Honestly I think this is great, OPI has made me save a lot of money in 2022 and 2023 so far. I hope they keep making horrible polishes so I don't feel tempted to buy anything else from them.

The cremes look kind of like crellys.
They r a satin quick dry finish, not really that squishy delicious formula that crellies have. I would not describe them as crellys.
So disappointing about the formulas! The colors are all so summery and gorgeous! (Although my wallet is ok with me not wanting to buy any 😂😂)

How is it possible that a nail polish company like Opi sells such poor quality products? What do they spend their working hours doing? Playing cards? It is incomprehensible to me 😓
I wondered what happened with this one. Did anyone test these? Idk if they even have consumer groups that test for them but had they had me on that team, I woulda been like “no” 😂😂😂
