I don't interact much with people, I'm more of an isolated fan. But, what I was referring to specifically was the doujin scene specifically. Like you mentioned, the musical stuff is insane, with hundreds of albums being released every Comiket and hundreds of circles dedicated to Touhou. Aside from that, there are multiple fan anime, tons of fan games (some reaching mainstream consoles), and even a large presence in Konami's rhythm games. But yeah, I can't speak for the actual fans themselves.
