This takes me back. Amazing that little has changed in sport karate, just constant refinement. I trained and taught to England team level I’m the 80s and early 90s when England was the dream team winning the world championships 5 consecutive times. It was every 2 years, so a 10 year period. I am now in my mid 60s and still teaching. I can still do this, although a bit slower now. I like George’s smooth movement with not too much bounce. Efficiency is the name of the game. Repetition is the mother of skill.
@scarred10 I've been doing this for 36 years. You have to be strong enough to get that leg up before you can develop that speed. In any case, impressive to watch!
@GosokuRyuYodan it takes virtually no strength to get the leg up any height,thats why a little kid or thin woman can do it,its speed and flexibilty,the leg doesnt weigh enough to require much strength to throw it up quickly.

You're right. They can "throw" the leg up. To control it takes strength.
