This video has been a dissapointment. As a data science student & finance graduate I noticed one thing: the internet is full of people trying to sell you a dumb software or trading course. This video is not an exception. He tries to sell you a dumb bot, which is not even AI. It just executes when a market indicator changes. Only thing you need to know: day trading is gambling, invest in safe financial instruments like ETFs for the long run (read: years). Do not touch your money or interfere with it. Just add a monthly amount as you would do on a savings account. There is no such thing as quick calculated profits; day trading us all gambling and a sham. Please take my word for this.

I agree. I am 53 and have a comp sci degree with over 25+ years of exp in various positions and industry. I am also a 20+ year investor. I recently invested with an automated trading comp as a test. I am down $25k which is a 💯 lost. I asked many questions and they were all red flags. I had to try it. Meanwhile long and hold strategy is still doing better. I do trade fundamental and technical manually. Maybe in the future I will try automating it myself.

Very hard to discern, there is a lot of psychological trading. Travel related stuff may go up as it looks like COVID is finally vanishing. Cruise lines could finally have a nice turn around. Obviously, oil is part of that dynamic, but I think more will be pumped. I don't have much yet. I have Carnival and Sea World. I am waiting on Weekly oil production to grow above the 12.2--12.3 million barrel a day, level. 12.4 or 12.5, I will probably buy more. Surprise events can have a big impact. If Russia makes peace and the lifting of sanctions is part of the deal, that should kick it into high gear. If the lending rate keeps on climbing...there could be issues. But anyone's guess.

We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. If it were a true AI it would self evolve and already know market sentiment of being bullish or bearish. This indicator has with its short time frame is basically a party trick. Time frame is too short and the next month it could have lost $20K or more. Imagine news of SVB coming out midday and it not knowing why the markets aren’t behaving the way they “normally would”.

exactly, its basically just a buy/sell indicator... one can use Trading View its the same.
Here's the problem: If all brokers are automated and left to their own devices, without proper fundamental analysis (which was never mentioned in this video) then you could quite easily see a situation whereby bots are investing into underperforming (or non performing companies), leaving investors (you and I) holding shares in companies that, at any point in time, could do a nosedive due to poor performance. Bots tend to look at graphs, not news releases or sentiment.
How did the bot do compared to the buy and hold strategy? If you would have bought the stocks, not went short sold them at the end of the month?
He fails to mention that his auto trade script(not really AI) underperformed the market between Jan 17 and Feb 17, if he would have just bought TSLA and sold it on those same days(130$ on 1/17 208$ on 2/17), he would have made a 58% return.

Idea: set the trading limit as a percentage of the total account balance so that the account remains a viable, auto correcting and efficient system indefinitely. Having an ever increasing balance while trading with a fixed amount will become less and less efficient over time and having the account crash out with a series of wrong investments (as you alluded to) will shut it down completely. This would fix both scenarios at the same time.

I think one of the reasons for the limit was to ensure a floor of $25k was always available to satisfy trading requirements, so that would need to be taken into account as well.

@@markivirich8 If he does that, it also increases the risk. You have to manage properly the market sentiment, as that is very important in stocks. The risk management on this method is what scares me, some trades he takes 2-3% stops whilst others he takes 7-8%. That in percentages doesn't tell you much, but if you compare to the gains, like tesla, stops at 7 takes at 6%? You can't program a risk management like that, in a bad month where you guess the sentiment wrong, as this week for example, apple stocks should be going up with their new release, but it's not, you lose thousands with a risk management like that. The bot is cool though, you make a good strategy and code it right it will make you money passively, I have about 2 or 3 bots to trade for me when I don't. It does mean that you do have to take out 30-50k for each at least, in my case I like to have bots with well over 50k and have them risk 4-5k each trade, so even if it fails completely by the end of the month I've only lost about 10k. Turns out it never fails because you can backtest it on tradingview or other platforms.

i read a book called machines like me and the main guy literally bought a robot and did the same thing. In the end the robot donated all of its earnings around 90000$ to charity and destroyed it self.

It's really important that the video has extra flair for entertainment. This realistically can't perform consistently hands off and print money. Nothing can. He's using his experience and skill, and a pinch of luck to direct the bot. There's no such thing as set it and forget it for 100% success rate
This is not AI, this is just algo trading. A real AI trading should has the ability to learn from its own trading profit and loss to adjust parameters to optimize trading result.

yeah, except he decided to change it to a month because even after shifting from a 3 hour timeframe to a 1 hour timeframe, there still wasn't much trading going on. Moving it from a week to a month gave him/us a wider view of what and how the bot did. He went on at some length about how nervous he was about increasing it to a month, but decided it was a necessary move to better illustrate the experiment. Guess your AI bot needs to bone up on its comprehension/summarizing techniques.
