I’m moving again very soon b/c of my super nosey landlord. My next videos might be delayed. I’ll try to update as much as I can, but moving is hectic as you know. Same! I love snails very much, I have a few of them in my tank. Only ivory ones right now, because my elderly orange one passed away recently.
Same, though that kind of shell decay doesn't happen with age. Poor buddy has an extreme case of calcium defiency. I hope Foo actually supplements soon with cuttlebone or something cause thats some extreme neglect of calcium needs.
Nerite snails sometimes nibble on each others shells if they have calcium deficiency...prob that happened to him

I have my doubts about this type of aquarium keeping in the long term, especially without any form of dosing, which is why I came to the comments the moment I saw that nerite. That isn't aging. That is very clearly a deficiency. The tank can very clearly handle the breakdown of nitrogen, but that snail clearly has something up. If the calcium was that low though we should also see shrimp struggling to molt, and many will die trying to. So I wonder if they have run into any of that, as I'd expect shrimp to have molting problems long before I'd expect to see that level of chipping on the nerite.

I love how perfect this ecosystem is too. All animals produce co2 for plants, plants produce oxygen for animals, so no need for an aerator.
Most waste of the animals is eaten by the cleaners and used by the plants, and the plants provide both food and shelter for the animals

I started to watch you, because of how peaceful this was. Its hard to believe its almost 3 years now! I seen the start of this tank and the stuff its gone through.And i just love it. It takes a few months for shrimp to start breeding if they're in a new tank
You also might have had bad luck and gotten only males OR females. Happened to me, I only got one female and she didn't make it for long. Had to buy a new batch of shrimp (the first batch was adopted). Together they reproduced well.

Holes in the shell could mean calcium deficiency, or I suppose age. Nerite snails only eat algae, not other snails
