    Takumi Sen has TONS of versatility. I've had numerous workouts where the overall distance covered was 18+KM and never once did I think to myself "boy, I sure which I had more stack". If I was forced to race a half marathon in the TS, I'd toe the line with zero doubts.
    I also need to get a pair of SL2's before Black Friday, cause if the shoe (and the heel lockdown) works as well as I think it will, I'll probably grab 2 more pair at 50% off.
    AlphaFly V3 is just amazing. Zero issues with that shoe. Current pair are at 150km, and will have another half marathon and Chicago '24 in them, and see zero reason to not use the same pair for Boston 2025. Both AF V1/2 had significant wear by 150km, but the V3 has nearly zero. Half of that is the shoe design, and half is my fitness and form improvements.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  2 месяца назад

      Agree on the TS10. It would be a valid option for a half marathon for me, especially if I was going for a PR. Also Zero doubts on it's ability to do it's job for that distance for me.
      The SL2/TS10 combo is spectacular. Adidas has nailed the SL2 and how it works with the rest oft he Adizero range. As I pointed out in my SL2 initial impressions, the SL2 is a trainer Takumi Sen (a Takumi Ren of old) and you definitely feel that in the shoe.
      On the AF3 I am seeing a bit more wear on the lateral orange puck under the airpod on my right foot (which I'm harsh on)...but beyond that very little wear, but I'm at less than 50k as well. I'm not really worried about it as it seems like something that will wear then stop.
      The VF3 wears better for me. The AF2 wore very poorly for me. The AF1 did ok, but I never ran in one enough to really know.
      The AF3 is a shoe I'll pull out for some PR attempts and key workouts as it is so so fast for me. It's not a shoe I ever would have guessed I'd use for anything under a marathon... but for what my plans are for the fall/winter...it will be used.

    Nice to see the new Vics in the lineup. I’ve been a spike nerd for a while now and have run in almost every Nike distance spike since the OG victorys. The air zoom vic 2s are definitely the best mid distance spike Nike has ever made, and if you can work up the calf strength, maybe even the best long distance spike ever as well. Womens 1500, mile, 2k, 5k, and 10k world records are all in that spike, not to mention the men’s 2k, 3k, and 2 mile.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  2 месяца назад +1

      That is one of the reason i bought them. After watching their dominance at the Olympics for middle (and some long) distance events. It got me curious. They are a joy to run in. I'm a forefoot striker and they don't bother my achilles/calves as much as I expected. Granted I've not taken them over 600m yet either (lots of 200s and 400s thus far). Really interesting shoe with a ton of fascinating details...I can't wait to talk about them.
      I may be adding a second pair of spikes to my coverage in Sept, stay tuned.
      The next video on the channel I'll go over just what I'm doing and focusing on for the fall/winter and why I need a pair of spikes...

    Hope the day is treating you well Chris! Just got in the mail the other day my first AP3 and I'm so shocked how similar they feel as a forefoot striker to the superblast 2. I've been looking to consolidate a bit of my rotation just to make it simpler. I honestly find for my running style a SL2/SB2 or SL2/AP3 is a very hard 2 shoe rotation to beat. Extremely durable rotation as well.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  2 месяца назад +1

      Agree fully on that. Ironically the AP3 Is less foam too…. But is more rolling. The rods really make a huge difference. I enjoy the SB2 a lot and I love the AP3, even though it’s not that fast for me…. But you nailed it…. Very good combos. The SL2 really pairs well with both as well.

      In your case, yes. The SB2 is a better option, You will flatten the NB4 quickly. As for Adidas, the B12 will also stand up to you decently, but remember it is a plated shoe, so keep it for faster running. You'll pancake the SL2 quickly.

    That Peg Plus, same class as a Hoka Mach 6, but 30% or $40 more expensive at $180. Would enjoy you comparing and contrasting that Peg Plus in context to other shoes in the same class.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  2 месяца назад

      It completely outclasses the Mach 6 or Rebel v4. ZoomX is a TOTALLY different level of oam than the SC EVA Hoka uses (which I liked) and whatever squishy mess NB is using (which was a joke).
      The Peg Plus is also the SAME price as the old Turbo 1/2...if anything its a beter deal now due to it being full ZoomX and inflation. Also it's the same tier/price as the Invincible. Just because it has less foam it's worth less?
      I've done many comparison videos of the Peg Plus, to the shoes I think it compares directly too... there are a few others I'm waiting to release that I think it will go toe-to-toe with (Adios 9, that new Puma)...but as of now it stand alone due to ZoomX.

    I hear AP4 releasing in December (it's a Q1/25 shoe for adidas) with a small chance of LTD sale at Berlin what you mentioned. There is a bigger restock of Evo 1 right around Berlin so launching (in reasonable quantities) also the AP4 around the same time might not be the smartest move. adidas has shown in the past that they can mess up launch dates pretty significantly.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  2 месяца назад

      It doesn't feel special. It's perfectly adequate. It fits and feels like a Puma trainer and the foam is nice.... but compared to a VF3, AF3, MSEP/SP...it's completely outclassed. It does seem like it will have good durability and feels like a "normal" shoe on foot, which is why i recommended it as a good option for a first super shoe.
      I am interested in the A-TPU foam...if it appears in a lower stack plateless flat that will be an experience I'm far more interested in.

    • @dynamike9248
      @dynamike9248 2 месяца назад

      @@SagasuRunning Got it. I've recently tried a few runs in DNE3 and have been really really impressed by it, probably the biggest shoe surprise this year for me. I've mained AP3 for a while and now I don't want to run in AP3 anymore... It's hit a great balance among soft and comfy (for me as a forefoot striker), bounce, smooth transition, traction and stability. I think AP3 has nailed all but is indeed a bit too firm and less smooth in transition for relatively high cadence runners. I've tried DN2, DNE2 and DN3 and have been very unimpressed, but DNE3 I think has a lot of potential. But Puma seems to be very conservative in marketing and stocks for this model. I didn't know Puma is launching a non-plated ATPU model - will definitely keep and eye on that! Btw, I've also seen people saying the new AP4 could be an ATPU foam (which is also what's used in the small soft sandwiched piece in prime strung x2, between two normal LSP foams). Interesting to see whether ATPU foams will become mainstream over the next few years

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  2 месяца назад

      @dynamike9248 I expect the AP4 will have LSP Evo (PEBA) under the foot and normal LSP (SC TPEE) under that as a carrier. The “energy core” in the PX2S, as I’ve heard it is LSP Evo (PEBA), same as the Evo 1, just more dense.
      I haven’t heard of Adidas developing a 3rd foam yet, though I am sure they are. It would also help them stick to the rods and control the structure of the foam to support them. Something harder to do with LSP Evo, at least how they weee manufacturing it in the Evo 1. We shall see. The AP4 definitely has more going on in it that what we see on the surface…. And that will make clear what Adidas’s next step is.
      As for A-TPU foams… I don’t know. They streamline manufacture but the jury is still out on performance. I know the DNE3 is getting a lot of buzz right now but I doubt we will see it on many world major podiums this fall/ spring.
      That rumored low stack/plateless Puma in their A-TPU is very interesting to me.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  2 месяца назад

      Honestly, I’m not surprised. The Prime X platform isn’t really a serious shoe for Adidas. It’s a tech platform for them to try things and get headlines. But the Evo 1 has taken that away from it. I’m sure we will see a PX3, but it will only be when Adidas it has something it wants to test. Given the new foams and engineering needs Adidas will have moving forward the PX platform could change a bit.
      I’m much more surprised there has been NOTHING about the Boston 13. That is far more meaningful.

    Hi Chris thanks so much if you respond to this, I recently went all in and bought the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 3 almost all my runs have been PBs since however I've noticed the shoe starts to ware very quickly and don't dare run in it apart from for PB efforts,
    Is there a Supershoe that trades performance slightly for durability and which one would be a good balance.

      What you are asking for was the original promise of "Super Trainers", until they became proxy race shoes.
      As far as super shoes go the AF3 is actually quite durable. However, super shoes are not intended for daily running...and it's a bad idea to be running in. a plated shoe daily.
      There are more durable super shoes and options out there though. The Adidas Adios Pro 3 is a tank as far as durability. The Adidas Boston 12, while not a super shoe, is one of the best executions of the "super trainer" idea.
      Saucony's Endorphin series is also quite good blending durability and performance.
      I had to Google the Scott Supertrac 3, it's about what I expected from Scott.
      You need a good road daily trainer, that will go a LONG way to pairing with the AF3. Look at the Nike Pegasus 41, Adidas SL2 or Puma Velocity Nitro 3. I have alot of content on all three. Pairing a good daily trainer with the AF3 will help you alot. Do most of your runs in the daily trianer, some trail in the Scott and save the AF3 for workouts/races.

      Keep your eye out for either the Puma Velocity Nitro 3. Good deals pop up often on it. It will feel nothing like the AF3, but it will be a very durable and solid daily trainer for you than you can run on any surface.
      The Nike Pegasus 41 or Nike Vomero 17 will also be good to look for. They will feel much more like the AF3, but in a daily/cushioned trainer.

      Not at all. The SNR is an excellent option for pronation. It has a good amount of medial flaring to help to support your foot. Still a neutral shoe, but much better than the SL2 for pronation. There is even the Supernova Solution, which is an actual mild stability shoe with more support built into the midfoot on both the lateral and medial sides if you need more.

      Joe is the only one I’ve heard mention it as “Japan only” as he said the use case is for Ekiden coaches who don’t want their athletes doing any base in plated shoes in the spring to build foot strength and durability for the season.
      I’ve heard the above in multiple places too… but not Japan specific… which feels odd to me as Puma doesn’t have a huge footprint in the Ekidens in Japan, at least compared to Nike, Adidas and now On.
      I assume it’s a Liberate Nitro 3 or the replacement for that line. The only details I’ve heard are “low stack” (but no numbers), A-TPU Nitro foam and no plate/shank…
