Yup, that's what people seem to miss. Gvozdyk needed that rest to get his body and mind back right. 3 tune-ups, and back to the world-class level.
I respect that win for David because he went up against a former world champ (who looked big as hell) in his first fight at 175. Didn't get the stoppage, but his skillset and technique improved.
Gvozdyk was on a three year layoff.
If y'all watched morrell last fight you'd know he has no chance that said Benavidez by 6 or less

Actually... Morrell got out-boxed by Hot Rod. If Hot Rod would've threw more he could've won that fight. I'm sure Benavidez saw that too.
We mustve been watching 2 different fights because although it was good performance for either guy morrell definitely did not get outboxed in no shape form or fashion and clearly won, not his best win but he won for sure
@CloudBoyAB That's not what I saw. He was off-put by the jab, countered effectively His power started fading mid-fight but he still kept throwing. Morrell was ok. He won the fight. But only becuz Hot Rod had a sparring partner mentality. He didn't throw punches in bunches and sometimes didn't throw at all. Hot Rod didn't seem to realize that Morrell wasn't a big bad monster until later in the fight. (He's better than he thinks, IMHO). Benavidez would hurt Morrell with his jab and easily out box him.
