Hi, yes, I bought a kit for the electrics, all the plugs were in the Audi loom so I just connected to them following the instructions that came with the kit. After that you need to go into the coding (I used a VCDS from Ross-Tech) - I had to activate the towhitch but I had several fault codes afterwards and had to recode 3 other items (I can't remember which).
Hello Sir, great video. I was wondering what's the heaviest load towed by your Audi. How did the car respond, and how did it hold up to the wear and tear?
Hello, thankyou for writing, I only have a small trailer but regularly transported 500kg of gravel in it. The A7 I had was the 313BHP so it had no difficulty pulling it. The tow hitch oulasted the car, unfortunately the engine failed due to its age despite numerous repairs and I ended up selling the car to a scrap dealer as it wasn't economically viable to keep it on the road.
Thank you so much..! And from where I can order exactly like this one hitch for my 2012 Audi A7 I looked everywhere Amazon, eBay and is very hard to find... 😒 Thank you for the video... 👍
Hi, I live in France so I bought mine from France attelage; this link shows several that fit but I bought the Bosal 050-333 (the site lists it as BOS050333UN at 277 Euro but transport costs might be high to send it to America as its very heavy) www.france-attelage.com/audi/audi-a7-sportback/a7-sportback-d-octobre-2010-a-mars-2018/561_a7-sportback-d-octobre-2010-a-mars-2018/I also ordered an electrics kit (faisceau in French). My A7 had all the connections ready to plug the faisceau in so it wasn't difficult to wire up but you do have to code it afterwards (I used a Ross-Tec Hex V2 to do it).
Hello, I cannot find this bosal towhitch on the internet anywhere. Could you please post a link? Thank you very much. (I can find the Stealth version of this, but it does not have the extensions that go into the frame tubes.
Thanks for taking time to make this video - did my towbar last weekend following your vid and was invaluable

Hi. Thanks for the video. Did you also install the electric parts?

Hi, I added the link, Norauto have it in stock but Oscaro are showing zero stock. I bought mine from France attelage.
How much can the car pull?
What is the key size of 5:05 ?
Hi Kamil, it's a long time ago that I did the job so I'm not sure but it's a standard size, probably 13mm.
It's a 10mm but it's a bloody nightmare to get to it
