Though Yu Yiting has won indiviudal medals, the one who combined with Pan would truly create super swimmers would be Zhang Yufei. She holds the most medals of all colors (men or women) in the World Championships, and more highly coveted, Olympics - and fairly consistently and over many years (across two Olympics is highly regarded). Yu is young so still has a lot of competing years to earn more medals. But Zhang is a few years older as opposed to the nearly same age between Yu and Pan.
What's the story between them? I also questioned in a Wang Shun thread about Yu's closeness with Wang, as well, such that Wang chose her, Pan and Zhang Yufei among the swimmers he would spend on a stranded island (to that effect)? Pan is a no-brainer as they are the closest. Zhang is like the sister among the male swimmers. But Yu? Is she in the same swimming club, so their close bond was formed there? She's an IM specialist like Wang. I don't see her with Wang as much as she's around Pan (whether official public appearances or private in their personal time). Or is it the 4 hang out with each a lot in socializing? Curious minds need to know. ;) P.S. RUclips is blocking my comments A-GAIN. So I can't finish posting in the "Sensitive Data" video. So annoying.
Okay I read the clarification at the end of the video that they have been childhood friends - and are only close friends now. Nothing romantic. I have seen some fans shipping the two together. Why not? They're the same age. A lot of childhood friends become a couple (I knew of one in my childhood neighborhood where the daughter in one house ended up marrying the son of the next-door house when they were adults (ended up divorcing). It's actually not unusual. It's not the end of the world to be together, but Pan is a very private person, so under the microscope of his romantic life would be understandably invasive. Then again, Andy Lau hid his relationship with his current wife for much of his career - even when he was married to her. But the Hong Kong stars are extreme in hiding their romantic partners, as if their crazy fans will have a fit (actually many do, and it's not limited to the Chinese, as it's a Western thing too). It might have all started with Jackie Chan when it was first learned of his wife/girlfriend and one fan lost it. One major difference is the massive population of China so the fan base is a lot larger and intense. I get the intense shielding of their privacy (as I consider myself very private, as well).
@@景阳-e7e Thanks for that background. On exploring more on Wang Shun (namely a fan Instagram) I am reminded that he's very close to Ye Shiwen, who is 2 years younger than Wang. She's also an IM specialist (impressively won 2 Olympic individual gold medals, which is considered the ultimate athletic prize). Then, he's also very close to Sun Jiajun. He's truly a great big brother to all the younger teammates. Actually, he seems to be an all-around great person: down-to-earth, fun & goofy, caring, kind, respectful and very smart. I know he's working toward his doctorate degree, but the discipline could be fluff. Nope, saw a photo or screenshot of his college notebook and I recognized the equations and formula of calculus. Aaah, a brainiac after my heart. As the running joke about Wang goes, what can't he do except sing?
Sorry for my sidetracking question but I'm trying to get to the bottom of all the blocking of my comments, which I know starts with certain words (but there's no guideline list). I've been reading about channel owners able to set censoring filters. As an example, one owner blocked links, which are a tool of bots and spam (which I assumed already that links would trigger the blocking anyway by RUclips). By chance, could you double-check your admin settings for any pre-set (default) filters? I have a lot of comments to post but I've been already blocked in the second. So I have been stymied. Currently, I'm trying to learn of specific words that trips the blocking. Thanks for any insight.
Aww the friendship is so sweet the nudge on the podium 🥰… imagine if they combined their DNA they would produce supers humans 😜
