I moved to Florida several years ago and I wish I did it way sooner, after 30 plus years in NY with the hustle and bustle moving to Florida is the best gift I could have give myself, truly relaxing and a peace of mind atmosphere. As you mention in your video it have its props and cons ( true) but overall you can't beat it, a least for me.😊😊.

Here in Canada is a continuous icebox for at least 6 months, barely have 3 months of summer weather and 3 months in-between/fall like weather! My question is for Trish: what should Canadians know before thinking of property purchase in Florida (for vacation and/or rental)-tax implications; recommendations on areas etc. Thanks in advance….both you and Prea should continue these info vlogs! There are no restrictions on buying a home in Florida you can qualify for a mortgage, you will have to show tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements etc. We have a no doc loan you will just have to do a higher downpayment. And if you have a home in Florida and you want to sell it ,they will withhold 15% tax under the Foreign Investment in Real Property Act (FIRPTA) If you are looking to buy a property for rental I will suggest you purchase it under an LLC. I have helped quite a few clients from CA. If you are looking for a home to vacation in and probably to rent out when you’re not here I will suggest the Davenport area, close to champions gate. Cost of living has to be taken into consideration. It costs less to live in Florida so you will be paid less. When you think of it, works out pretty much the same. Florida just gives you more parking spce
I have to disagree with recent data from 2023 the cost of living in Florida was 2% higher than the national average. That was data released by Ramsey Solutions in October, 2023. No one talks about the sink hole problem in Central Florida. It's pretty epic and will get worse with the swell in population. I lived there 6 years before the wave came during and after covid.
