I was on a date at Olive Garden with my college girlfriend, and they had some new breadsticks that were incredibly good. We were both going on with each other about how we really liked their new breadstick recipe. During the meal, the waiter was checking on us and apologized about the breadsticks not being their standard fare. Apparently, they'd run out and had to get a bunch from the Fazolli's down the street. We gave each other a meaningful look and started cracking up after he'd left saying that it made total sense, now.

Of course ,after the fourth course, Brett was pretty much getting sick to her stomach and really did'nt care what anyone thought, she just wanted to survive this. This was alot of fun. I heard the holes in the white castle pattys are because they cook the patty on top of cooking onions so the holes allow the steam from the onions out and Also giving the burger itself a stronger onion flavor. I actually tested the hole method with onions and it surprisingly worked
The ground beef from White Castle is extruded (think Play-Doh Fun Factory) with the five holes (like the 5 side on a die - singular for dice) in the square outer shape and sliced to thickness as it comes out. They are frozen immediately and shipped out to the individual outlets. The square shape is to allow them to be placed side-by-side on a big rectangular tray (no wasted space) with holes (in the tray) to pass steam from underneath, experimentally optimized to steam-cook the patty underside and through the holes to cook uniformly without having to flip the patties (think assembly line). The freeze-dried small diced onions are slathered across the top of the patties, re-hydrated by the steam and the grease from the patty. The buns are immediately placed bottom bun half first (outside up) and the top bun half is placed on the bottom bun half (outside up); this permits cooking while the tray is filled. The top bun half is removed (in the same order as placed on the steamer tray) as burgers are spatula'd up and inverted so that the squirts of ketchup and mustard can be applied (SOP, all condiments may be ordered special if so ordered) along with a "hamburger fast food dill chip" (available from Kroger nationwide if you want to duplicate the taste at home using the frozen WC's available in the gourmet section of your local grocery store freezer). The top bun half placed on top of the condiments and slid (as a unit) into the cardboard retainer, sized with the interlocking tabs to face each other such that a pair of burgers can be loosely "sealed" and continue to intermingle the steamed patty with the onions, then slid fitting snugly into the take-home bag - raising the potential that they will still be warm when you get home. They, most assuredly, will still be warm if you choose to eat them within the walls of the "Porcelain Palace", where best enjoyed right off of the steamer. We call this option "free-range" Castles; all other options are "less than". Very sorry your experience was "less-than".

The fries are ehh but overall unique and seasoned good so I’m still very impressed. I feel like if Five Guys was styled like Red Robin it’d be a lot more successful and realistic. Red Robin is disgusting lower than McDonald’s quality while Five Guys could be a great sit down chain if they kept prices but increased portion as far as the entrees

No, it really does help. I’ve had severe morning sickness and there’s no placebo-ing this nausea away. Ginger ale got me through a couple weeks singlehandedly.
I have a soft spot for White Castle similar to yours for Krystal due to family history of eating contest. BTW: The reason for the holes is they cook the patties by steaming them over a bed of onions (thus the meatloaf flavor) - the wholes let the steam pass through. One of the oldest fast food chains in the country.
im pretty sure their patties are the only ones that are actually made from 100% real meat as well. I feel like a different variation of burger would have been better as well instead of just a plain patty and pickle. Considering all the others seemed to have full condiments or close to it.

This video brought back good memories of when my foodie friends and I had a pizza ranking party. We each brought a pizza from a different local favorite and when we arrived we each tried a slice of all the pizzas and ranked them based on sauce, crust, toppings etc... It was so much fun. You should do a food ranking with a friend next time-because misery loves company. XD

Unpopular opinion - Checker's is better than any of those. Whataburger and Sonic is pure shit. Hardee's is better than most of the big name FF burgers. Checker's, I never had a problem getting a moist burger, plenty of juicy tomatoes with mayo. The spicy chicken sandwich was a great drunk sandwich. And the spicy fries were unique for FF and always crispy.

I would like to see more cooking videos, because I don't think many people particularly the younger audiences are inspired to actually cook easy , wholesome, and flavorful food considering it's all right there. cooking is a very easy skill to adopt and really it's a matter of learning what you like in regards to texture, flavor, etc. and basically experimenting...

Fazoli’s is a great alternative to Olive Garden without having to go to a sit in restaurant+tip. I like the fact that their meals come in aluminum tins that you can put in your oven if it’s colder by the time you get home. Their breadsticks are awesome!

Ginger ale helped my sister while she had chemo for breast cancer. BUT you have to look at the label. Many actually don't contain any ginger, which is what helps calm the stomach.

Burger from Freddy's Steakburger and Frozen Custard, Fries from 5 Guys and a Root Beer from A&W would make best fast food meal. In-n-Out is still best overall for road trip, especially since they are usually open till 2am. Side note: Most ginger ales don't use actual ginger (Canada Dry has been sued numerous times for false advertising), so they don't benefit upset stomach. There are a few brands however that do use ginger, and those would likely help with stomach issues.
The ginger ale thing is referring to a different type of soda called "golden ginger ale" which isn't sold very much anymore (the only place I can think of is Yacht Club Soda in RI). Because of the similarities in title, the idea that golden ginger ale helps your stomach (NOT true for regular ginger ale except for placebo effect) ended up being prevalent.

I am Canadian, we have a huge Indian population in my town (about 60%). I went into an Indian restaurant and ordered a lamb curry, hot, with naan bread. The guy turned to the kitchen and told them to make it, "white guy hot." I've traveled a lot to india, thailand, etc places where they make actual spicy food and I love it so I told him to make it indian hot. Perfect. I'm always so disappointed when I order spicy food and it tastes like nothing.

I think the whole, "Drink Ginger-Ale whenever your stomach is nauseous," thing comes from natural ginger containing turmeric and cardamom, which apparently have been proven to settle nausea and vomiting. Real ginger does in fact help with nausea. I’ve struggled with nausea in the past and chewing raw ginger or drinking ginger tea really helps. Not sure about ginger ale tho
Fast food is all intended to be eaten shortly after purchase, not piled on a table to wait for you to get around to it. Cold fries are shitty, always, no matter where they're from. Burgers that are luke-warm are a little better than luke-warm fries, but they're still nowhere as good as a fresh one.

I believe the holes in White Castle are because they steam( I know, yuk) their “burgers”. I ate a lot of these when I was younger but my half century old digestive system no longer recognizes them as food. I gave up fast food over a year ago after seeing fast food workers do what I would call less than hygienic things while handling food, employees getting the order wrong on multiple occasions, ordering pizza and then open the box to see it isn't cut into slices, and then getting charged more than I think the meals are worth. I'll go to a local diner or just get groceries and make my own meals from now on

It's undeniably good though, I sometimes find myself thinking the price isn't that bad when I eat there but then it becomes over priced again when I walk out the door. It's strange, if I just ended up there I'd have no problem getting food but the thought of leaving the house to go spend that much always feels bad lol

BTW: The reason for the holes is they cook the patties by steaming them over a bed of onions (thus the meatloaf flavor) - the wholes let the steam pass through. One of the oldest fast food chains in the country.

This video brought back good memories of when my foodie friends and I had a pizza ranking party. We each brought a pizza from a different local favorite and when we arrived we each tried a slice of all the pizzas and ranked them based on sauce, crust, toppings etc... It was so much fun. You should do a food ranking with a friend next time-because misery loves company. XD

Unpopular opinion - Checker's is better than any of those. Whataburger and Sonic is pure shit. Hardee's is better than most of the big name FF burgers. Checker's, I never had a problem getting a moist burger, plenty of juicy tomatoes with mayo. The spicy chicken sandwich was a great drunk sandwich. And the spicy fries were unique for FF and always crispy.

Fazoli’s is a great alternative to Olive Garden without having to go to a sit in restaurant+tip. I like the fact that their meals come in aluminum tins that you can put in your oven if it’s colder by the time you get home.

Ginger ale helped my sister while she had chemo for breast cancer. BUT you have to look at the label. Many actually don't contain any ginger, which is what helps calm the stomach.

You are spot on about the seed oils and sugars. These things are hidden in so many foods and are extremely unhealthy. The seed oils (even worse, soybean oil) really ticks me off because it has been sold to the public by the FDA as something healthy.

Burger from Freddy's Steakburger and Frozen Custard, Fries from 5 Guys and a Root Beer from A&W would make best fast food meal.
In-n-Out is still best overall for road trip, especially since they are usually open till 2am.
Side note: Most ginger ales don't use actual ginger (Canada Dry has been sued numerous times for false advertising), so they don't benefit upset stomach. There are a few brands however that do use ginger, and those would likely help with stomach issues.
"Canada Dry Bold" does use actual ginger. Was refreshing.
The ginger ale thing is referring to a different type of soda called "golden ginger ale" which isn't sold very much anymore (the only place I can think of is Yacht Club Soda in RI). Because of the similarities in title, the idea that golden ginger ale helps your stomach (NOT true for regular ginger ale except for placebo effect) ended up being prevalent.

I am Canadian, we have a huge Indian population in my town (about 60%). I went into an Indian restaurant and ordered a lamb curry, hot, with naan bread. The guy turned to the kitchen and told them to make it, "white guy hot."
I've traveled a lot to india, thailand, etc places where they make actual spicy food and I love it so I told him to make it indian hot. Perfect. I'm always so disappointed when I order spicy food and it tastes like nothing.

She eats ghost peppers like candy..she likes the flavor and says she doesn't feel the heat. Every restaurant she orders everything as spicy as they can get. My friends from Thailand and Ecuador deem her the spice queen.

I think the whole, "Drink Ginger-Ale whenever your stomach is nauseous," thing comes from natural ginger containing turmeric and cardamom, which apparently have been proven to settle nausea and vomiting. Maybe it rebalances the body's natural P.H?

Real ginger does in fact help with nausea. I’ve struggled with nausea in the past and chewing raw ginger or drinking ginger tea really helps. Not sure about ginger ale tho
Fast food is all intended to be eaten shortly after purchase, not piled on a table to wait for you to get around to it. Cold fries are shitty, always, no matter where they're from. Burgers that are luke-warm are a little better than luke-warm fries, but they're still nowhere as good as a fresh one.

I ate a lot of these when I was younger but my half century old digestive system no longer recognizes them as food. The holes in the White Castle and Krystals is to steam the onions. I can speak on White Castle, but Krystal's is only good between the hours of 2 and 4am.
I gave up fast food over a year ago after seeing fast food workers do what I would call less than hygienic things while handling food, employees getting the order wrong on multiple occasions, ordering pizza and then open the box to see it isn't cut into slices, and then getting charged more than I think the meals are worth. I'll go to a local diner or just get groceries and make my own meals from now on
Since quarantine, I think at least 90 percent of our fast food orders have had something or other wrong with them. Not exagerating.
