I've seen the fifth bar of the B section written as Gm7b5, which is an inversion of C7b9, but has more proper sounding root movement. G-C-F-C, instead of C-C-F-C. The audio even seems to sound this out with the high Bb to G standing out in the melody.
@@ihavegcc472 Going good, I play the bass and while learning Donna lee's theme by Charlie Parker I found that the triplets sound better when you pluck them individually instead of pluck-hammer-pull. Would recommend this to rest of the bass players here
@@afriendfrommars5684 Oh sick! Im mainly a woodwind player but I actually am learning the head on bass rn, i wanna learn how to solo on bass so ive been practicing
Hello, I wanted to ask your permission to use this backing track to make a video on my channel, I put credits and a link to your channel in the description of my video, I await your response. thank you so much
Whats the tempo. I will be be Donna Lee lessons on piano. It would definitely help to know the tempo. The best..Btw..I think backing tracks have helped.my timing. .
2nd..anyways.. Great video ...most backing track providers do not have the chords shown at the time played which is extremely imp. I have given about 10 piano tutorials on this but only on the melody It is very challenging to learn by yourself. I will be forwarding this to Some other people. Some are You tube creators and I think they will Profit from it. Do you have a similar one on all of me? It has a similar chord structure. I plan to go back into my videos and put this link in it. of course that will take time. .
@@guitareimprovisation Thankyou for your answer, such great tracks but I perform with playbacks so fade outs are not good, and almost everything seems to have a fade out, which is a pity, love your Gtr playing Martin really cool.
I am trying to read. a Piano Donna Lee sheet on the net. I have about 20 measures down on the trebble clef. But the base needs work. It has an AbMaj7 tied to another identical chord with reduced time. Why dent they use one longer time chord. I suspect this is a music editor mistake.
@@guitareimprovisationcan you try counting along to this starting a couple measures before 1:35? every time I do, it seems like there is a eighth note missing in the track when the guitarist is accenting the 2 and 4

All musicians learning Donna Lee standard here, good job and good luck!
I have a question, what does "%" mean?
It means repeat the measure before! so in this case the 4th bar would be the 3rd bar again
@@ihavegcc472 Awesome dude now I get it, thanks :)
@@afriendfrommars5684 Cool! How's practicing going?

Great tracks- thanks for this one!
great groove, just the tempo I needed :)
Great Comping and swinging bass+drums! Thanks !
Good feel to this one
Classy guitar comping, Mr. Gioani! I'm transcribing it (for real) :D
This is great, but the guitar rhythm bit at about 1:35 is very offputting and feels misplaced
Thank you so much for this!

What does the percentage sign mean?
to repeat the previous chord
to repeat the previous bar, not only the previous chord, to be precise
@@philippesalmon7286 Yep, that explains it better
Guten Tag,
Gibt es zu diesem Song die Griffbilder für die Akkorde?
The slower tempo makes it so much harder to swing all of those eighth note lines ;(
Hallo, are they for sale? Thankyou
Yes you can buy them if your want, or get them all at once if you join my patreon :-)

lol the guitarist is a beat off at 1:35
It's emphasis on 2 and 4. Not to do too often but it's great to add so spice to the swing. Many jazz compers do that
