Thankyou it really was a great journey and although we probably won't be doing extended travels for long periods we are hopeful that starting next year we'll get to go back to Japan for a few weeks as well as some other places.

The deer at Nara Park will not steal cookies from the shop
When tourists buy cookies for deer from the store, the deer eats with a cookies for deer from the tourists.
The deer in Nara Park protects the signal and crosses a pedestrian crossing
Why are deer better manners?

Selling deer's cookies are everywhere in Kofukuji, Kasuga Taisha, Todaiji etc., in Nara park
Almost, it is just next to the deers,
They do not hide it but they sell it.
If a lot of deers comes, do not you think that they can not cope with put away cookie from deer?

Apparently the deer at Nara Park seems to have learned that you do not have to steal from the cookie shop because tourists will give you cookies if you are near the cookie shop

奈良公園の５月から６月頃の鹿は、子鹿の出産時期なので、公園内の子鹿に不用意に近づくと近くにいる親鹿から頭突きや蹴りなどの攻撃を受ける危険があります。また、鹿煎餅を持ったまま鹿にお辞儀をさせ続けると噛みついてきます。鹿のお辞儀は、挨拶でなく早く鹿煎餅をよこせと威嚇をしているポーズなのです。とくに中国からの観光客が、何回もおじぎをさせて焦らしたあげくに鹿にかじられる事故が多発していますので注意してください。
