      Glad I could help! I’ve benefited from RUclips videos many times. Glad I could pay it forward.

    Great video, THUMBS UP! Only the resistor slows the current, as LEDS draw more current because they have less resistance. The computer senses this as a short not a blown light. Why it would set the traction, is probably something to do with how the circuit was designed in the computer by the electronic engineers. More than likely the LEDs are pulling down the voltage so low on the brake power feed circuit and the computer is setting a computer flag in the fault circuit as a break system open circuit, as there's not enough voltage to run the circuit. I do electronic Aircraft Test Set repairs for a living and I see this kind of stuff all the time. Good call on increasing the resistance on the circuit to fix the problem. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

      Keith I bow before your excellence!! Thanks for shedding light on the intricacies of why this happens. Knowing why it works is always better than just knowing it works.

      @@saskgrass Thanks David, no problem you seemed like the type of guy who would. I thought you did a super job on that video. I was looking for how to pull codes on a 2003 CTS. I think you would get more hits if you added, "& pull codes with the radio" at the end of the title, or did a separate video on just that. It seems there is no video named that on RUclips. We sold the CTS when the rear end or transmission, not sure which, started making noise. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

      Please post more on this car I'm about to buy one ($500) that won't start and no lights come on with new battery and won't shift from park

      @@johnwolford2715 Sorry John, I have not experienced that problem. Could be an ECM module or even the ignition key itself. (If the key was cut but not programmed the car won't start. Programming differs depending on the country the car was sold for. I had a new key cut but because I didn't have both original keys I needed a GM dealer to program it for me. In the US I believe you only need one original key to complete the programming).

    Mine start to give me this problems today but the only LEDs I have are the reverse lights and headlights,is this problem could be related to those LEDs too?

      Almost forgot mine has ABS,TC,and brake light on dashboard

    • @saskgrass
      @saskgrass  Год назад

      With mine I was able to fix the problem by adding the resistor to the tail lights. If you just added the LED headlights it might be the reason or part of. If your LED lights have been in for a while now and the traction control problem just shown up now the problem could be something else. With the brake light also on I would try to diagnose that issue first.

    One resistor makes sense because i yested one stock light and one led light and the issue was gone.

    Do you only have to install 1 load resistor on the passenger side or did you put on 1 on the driver side too?

    Moral of the story...don’t put ridiculous and silly aftermarket LED tail lights on ANY vehicle!

      In this case I had no choice. I bought the car used and it already had LED lights in it.

      There's nothing wrong with LED lights and today's cars are led. Newer caddys are LED. It's not the LED lights, is the parts that people NEVER put on and/or the manufacturer's never include as part of their lighting setups. Even stock vehicles with LED lighting has the resistors in. That is actually a good looking stock-style kit and I like them. I have LED's in mine and the lighting kit included it. Never had an issue

    There’s a traction control button in the glove box maybe you can turn it off.

    • @saskgrass
      @saskgrass  3 года назад

      Good thinking.. but I don't think that would've worked since the error was caused by a low voltage signal from another system causing the traction control light to come on.. (which indicates the TC system is disengaged, same as pushing the button) and locking the shifter in place at the same time.

    • @saskgrass
      @saskgrass  4 года назад

      The 1st edition CTS came out in 2003. They had no temperature gauge. The year after they replaced the clock with a temp gauge. On the 2003 all you have is a warning light and a display that will tell you the engine is overheating on the radio screen.

      Be Spoke 50 watt 6ohm load resistor. They use them to stop hyper flash on led signal lights too.

    How do you make the stereo show the codes?

    • @saskgrass
      @saskgrass  4 года назад +1

      The station buttons 1 through 6.. push and hold buttons 1 and 6 till the screen lights up all pixels. you can use the right control knob to cycle through the codes and the clear button to cancel them.

      Carlos Simental that’s how it works on mine. 1 and 6 at same time. My CTS is Canadian. I know some aspects differ depending on its country origin.
