Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a modern metropolis with Japanese colonial lanes, busy shopping streets and contemporary buildings. The skyline is crowned by the 509m-tall, bamboo-shaped Taipei 101 skyscraper, with upscale shops at the base and a rapid elevator to an observatory near the top. Taipei is also known for its lively street-food scene and many night markets, including expansive Shilin market. ― Google
Xinyi District is home to the Xinyi Special District, a commercial hub with the Taipei 101 skyscraper and its landmark observation deck. The busy quarter also includes high-end European eateries, innovative Taiwanese joints, trendy clubs, and luxury malls. Songshan Cultural and Creative Park features artist spaces and shops in an old tobacco factory, while Xiangshan Park has a leafy hiking trail and scenic lookout. ― Google

Even though I live in this city now, I don't know why, but I really enjoy watching all the street views of Taiwan on RUclips. It's so therapeutic and makes me love this place even more.
That's quite normal actually, for it could provide us a great chance to view the streets all around Taipei without leaving our home, which is really magnificent , isn't it? Incidentally, I really love Taipei, it's a wonderful city. Hopefully I could go visit there one day~~

The harmony between the old town and the new buildings is fantastic.
While the streets are lined with old buildings, it is also good to maintain minimal cleanliness.
To think that Taiwan wasn't even considered a developed country 20 years ago, it's just amazing what they've done.

I am Taiwanese. Don’t be fooled by travel videos. Taiwan’s urban construction can only be regarded as a developing country. For example, many parts of the city have no sidewalks, potholes, and no temporary parking spaces for cars. There are so many wild bite dogs in mountains

Incorrect. From the perspective of developed countries, Taiwan has poor transportation. The road design is bad, and buildings along the roads are not constructed according to regulations. There are too many illegal structures and unauthorized metal extensions. This is not how a developed country should look.

To be honest, Taiwan looks stuck in the 1990s in terms of overall technology and design feels in the street level. Meanwhile China looks futuristic and cyberpunk. This is an overall feel. On the specific side, the store signs in China often have Chinese and English words blended together with modern-looking design and materials and lighting and many big wall screens, but those in Taiwan seem to only have Chinese words (it will be very hard for foreigners to live there without knowledge of Chinese language) and there is rarely any design concepts, they just print the store names on a board, without any logos and beautification efforts. The gap in urban aesthetics is huge between the two sides.
