I love so much Gershwin’s melodies… R. Bennett did a nice work with this arrangement, using some of them from the outstanding and unfortunately overshadowed opera.

Fantastic performance~! This Bennett version is my favorite than Catfish Row version. I bought a casette tape of Dorati with Detroit SO long ago and this live performance shows more live feelings than studio recording. Bravo~~!!
Nice job. I think the conductor missed opportunities on syncopation and tempos generally, were a bit too slow, in my opinion. I've heard this many times. I think Andre Previn had it nailed down with his recording with the Pittsburgh.
It sounded to me like they needed some more rehearsal time. This piece doesn't just play itself and the orchestra could have used a little more experience with it.

Alot of people don't know that this music was orchestrated by Robert Russell Bennett (of "Victory at Sea" fame.
Nice recording Rico! I don't often listen to Gershwin and I am pleasantly surprised. Looks like a pretty recent one as it is with Iceland Symphony.
It was about 4 years ago. Thanks for your kind words
@@ricosaccani8788 My pleasure Rico :) Luba
És fantàstic
Grazie infinite. RS
Inspirado Gerswhin, gran compositor, y estupenda interpretación (salvo alguna trompeta desafinada)
The poor first trumpet at the end - can they make him hold that hi C# any longer?
23:47 - favorite part

I guess it's too much to ask for a program with timings?
I just made one.
It was too much to ask
EXQUISITE!

Video and audio are badly out of synch.
My apologies but it's only on your end
