Robert is just such a fluid player and humble guy,. One of my favorite bass players even before he joined Metallica. I loved his playing in Infectious Grooves.
Cool, thank you for watching and leaving a comment. He was having fun talking with us and probably could have given another hour or so on music but we were on a tight schedule, because well... Metallica!
I'm pretty sure I saw his kid skating in Venice a few weeks ago. Either that, or it looked really like him. Cool that he mentioned Gentle Giant -- one of the best bands in history. Dude looks fucking tired though.
Yeah he was pretty tired. The band just flew into Vancouver that afternoon, delayed by a few hours, he did two meet and greets and then starting filming a series of interviews. Still a super nice guy and pleasure to meet!
HOLY SHIT yeah it's old school but Rob should ask Metallica to play some ST in the smaller crowds. it's like why not ST been there when Metallica was talked about on MTV. it would be sweet to bring back that sweet shit!!!
Because without lars metallica would have never existed. Hate him as you will, but the guy really is a sweet and genuine dude. Especially now that he has grown up. I on the other hand, dont understand why people were so shocked that lars didnt want to make music for FREE and just let people steal it. Because it really is theft. And I know damn well that anyone you or I know, would have done the same, at the time. Imagine, you have your whole life arranged around your income, and then some twats who havent done anything to being to society that's positive, start just being able to download it, your paychecks start getting affected, and then you cant afford your lifestyle. Anyone would relate in that situation. I think people just love to bitch. I would be willing to also bet, that if metallica never cut their hair and made load, then made every album sound like ride the lightning, there would STILL be a bunch of assholes bitching because it all sounds THE SAME.
Dude is so laid back and genuine. He doesnt give off a "rock star vibe". I think Rob has also been a positive influence on the band, especially Lars. Ive seen recent interviews with Lars and he seemed more genuine as opposed to the pretentious prick hes been in the past
Metallica is the best band of all time even if you aren't a fan of them you have to admit they have been around forever they tour all the time they have stuck together. They have a great business. Plus they fucking rock.
They are the most successful metal band of all time yes, but the best band of all time? Definitely not. 300 years from now historians might speak of Beatles, maybe Led Zepellin, maybe Pink Floyd, when talking about rock, but Metallica? im not sure. I like Metallica, i grew up listening to them and I play guitar in part because of them but I keep things in perspective.
Evan L I agree. Puppets and justice were metal masterpieces. The creativity went down the tubes after the black album (I don't even like that album). Lars is terrible. They can't do anything interesting with odd time or syncopation with his lame 4/4 garbage beats.
Robert,I did a painting for you and sent it to Cali back in 1991,you had a very rude roommate that kept hanging up on me,anyway..if you remember, send me the money for my art,you gave me the down payment, thank you
Love Rob. One of the nicest, most wholesome dudes in metal.
The whole band are cool. Rob rules.
Rob’s attitude is just incredible. What a winner.
Rob brings something Special to METALLICA!..I think he’s the perfect fit. 🤟
carlos suarez i totally agree
James actually said in an interview that Robert makes them sound stronger.
He’s been the perfect fit since he joined the band in the beginning almost 2 yrs after Jason left the band. Rob is the best.
Robert is just such a fluid player and humble guy,. One of my favorite bass players even before he joined Metallica. I loved his playing in Infectious Grooves.
Agreed!
Rob strikes me as a super cool dude. Love that he mentioned Gentle Giant!
Rob is a total badass!
Love this dude.
Such a humble attitude for an individual that just stands out on stage. Demais!!!!!!!Hendrix claro.
Robert Trujillo is a Legend, he played with the Greatest Ozzy and Metallica...He adds something especial to Metallica..
When he gets low while he plays that looks freakin sick bad azz Rob
Rob can rock! OMG! I liked him with BLS too. That friggin ruled.
Real music with real musicians playing great music.
I hope the R&R Hall of fame sees this.
An amazing human and musician.
Love this guy. Very cool guy.
I really enjoyed listening to this and I'm glad you let him tell his stories rather than just offering up albums - and I'm not even a Metallica fan.
Cool, thanks for watching and leaving us a comment. I think he would have told us even more but we were cut short for time.
Awesome Jaco pic in there. This was great, Robert is the shit
Cool, thank you for watching and leaving a comment. He was having fun talking with us and probably could have given another hour or so on music but we were on a tight schedule, because well... Metallica!
Rob is the best bassist from Metallica, better than cliff
I’ve never heard of this tiny independent band, Metallica. But if they keep working hard one day they just might make it.
I’m a bit late to this interview. Still relevant to me. Love Rob. Suicidal. Infectious. All that was all that

Oddly, tech death is my go to music to chill with. It calms me down.
You are a great artist Robert the best bassist in the world ❤️
He seems like such a cool dude. I don't know how he puts up with or plays with Lars.
$$$$$$
Lars is a great person.
He play with Lars because he is the best motherfucking drummer
Rob and Lars went together to drink the night before his audition interview. Pretty sure they are alright

robert will never go bald, hes got a full head of hair
Great guy better professional!!!!
Not hating on any previous bass player for Metallica, but Rob is a great musician. And he makes Metallica better. Progress is daily.
He said it "Brand X" I thought I was their only fan.
Lots of bass players are Percy Jones fans, he is kinda awesome...
Dam Webster hall Nyc that place is kinda small for a band like metalica the vibe must have been awesome tho !!!
Roberto Agustín Miguel Santiago Samuel Trujillo Veracruz “Parangaricutirimícuaro”it’s a cool dude !!!! 😎 👍 😅😂🤣
He's write about Jaco. People think cliff was the best bass player? Please. Jaco was amazing.
Don't forget about John Entwistle.
Yeah, also that guy from infectious grooves gets my vote. He's a monster on bass.
Jaco Pastorius is great.
synthonaplinth don’t forget Geezer and Flea too
Donna Lee is a Charlie Parker song
Dude is so laid back and genuine. He doesnt give off a "rock star vibe". I think Rob has also been a positive influence on the band, especially Lars. Ive seen recent interviews with Lars and he seemed more genuine as opposed to the pretentious prick hes been in the past
ST....ST....ST....ST...ST....
Seeing Pistorius is cool ... but I saw the Ramones with Dee Dee twice!
Rob reminds me of a crab when he walk while he plays
😁🦀 IKR!
What' s the first song played?
SimonStorm for whom the bell tolls.
Love u guys always will tell I pass

Thank you. I was wondering who was on his shirt.

Hi Rob glad found a spot in your life. Do you feel the wrath of being third next to Jason.
its yah koo. not jocko.
