I hate to watch these clips. It reminds me of the GOOD days of television. Seeing Johnny again, reminds me of just how bad television is today☹️
They're seriously is no better duo in late night than Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon may they both rest in peace
This was "average" Carson: "Average" Carson is still the Gold Standard.
Guy was a gent, thanking Marcie on air at the end for putting it all together.
$25.000 back in '79. prablably worth $250.000 today..
Anybody else hear the beeping in the background
The scale was the culprit
I miss Johnny
He is the greatest ever late night host
Ed must've been tall, because he doesn't look like he's 246 pounds.
That's what I thought!! Ed was 6'2, 6'3
Yeah, I don't think he weighed that much.
Ed was 6'3", so he was just slightly overweight.
I stepped on one of those once and it said, "One at a time!"
lol
I wish more videos had a constant beeping in the background.
@Johnny Carson
whats that beeping noise the whole time?
The bears heart stopped.
"The teddy bear's so soft, Mum."
"Well dear, it's made from dead animals."
I was 4 weeks old when this aired
This gold plated gasoline can in 1979 was in the days of one dollar a gallon gas. The price of a gallon is up almost 3 bucks since then. Wonder if the price of the can has gone up that much?
well, its more about how much the price of gold has gone up in recent years....
Agreed, everything has gone up and this was before Ed McMahon went bankrupt. Wonder if Tammy Faye Baker got one of these cans to compliment her toilet back then.
That is the first 2 Gold Cans I can think of.
Remember when you could pump, THEN pay? That's how cheap gas used to be. I remember when the prices started going up, and you had to pay beforehand, the first couple of times after I paid I took off after, forgetting to pump the gas.
thank you for posting this. Johnny knew his own weight within a lb. -no matter what kooky thing he did , I love him more!
jimmy would be too afraid to touch this.
