Chef Buck, thank you for that creamed Kale recipe. I made it and it was wonderful. I had left overs so the next day I heated it up and added Garam Masala, cumin and fresh lime juice. It was fabulous. Keep cooking
I'm making kale for the first time this evening and found this. Subscribed before the video was even finished. Far better and way more entertaining than the rest of what I found!
I just made this :) I love it! Thank you for sharing the recipe. For the other viewers out there, in case you are interested, I used 1/4 tsp of black pepper and 1 tsp of salt.
This popped up while I was watching your squash playlist and sure glad it did! I am writing down all the ingredients and buying it next shopping trip. Like the peanut crunch on top as well. Thanks for this!
Awesome.I finally found someone who cooks kale with coconut milk.I was educating myself more on this vegetable and have eaten it at places but I always wanted to see if you can cook it with coconut milk.Iam from the South Pacific and we use a lot of coconut milk in our cooking. Thanks for educating me Chef.
thanks...we eat out at a lot of Southeast Asian restaurants where coconut milk is used quite extensively...it's informed our cooking at home quite a bit
I think it is funny how Kale is all the rage now. 25 years ago we used it in restaurants only to make the salad bar look green. Every night we threw it out. We use boxes and boxes of Kale every few days. Now I am paying for it. How ridiculous is that? And I just noticed the price of it has gone up from 3 bunches for 99 cents, to 1 bunch 99 cent. and the bunches are dinky. I know the stores are ripping people off! As a matter of fact, all the greens are getting to be smaller bunches and more expensive. I just start growing my own! That's how cheap and easy it is.
It *should* be all the rage...it's a dark leafy green and also CRUCIFEROUS...! I grow my own also here in SW Florida from late Sept. to May...arugula too! Eat more veggies and fruits everyone!
Yours is the best kale recipe channel I've found! Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing this delish-looking recipe. I'm going to try it tonight!
this looks like good home stuff....used to pull kale from the backyard in virginia...always good then and now....some form of kale is always around these days....the coco stuff is an interesting twist....i always wondered though if kale is the poke salad in the credence song...for my entertainment...i say it is....this is on the list...thanks NS
Yes, the cauliflower pizza was phenomenal. The people I have made it for are hooked! I have also taught them how to make it, per their request or should I say insistence...bunch of cauliflower pizza junkies! 😂
thanks Chef buck I always go back to your recipes because they're awesome and love kale and quinoa I love kale and anything you haven't been wet putting out a Blog lately what's up hope you're okay love you both
I toss my kale stems into the compost too! I'm with you Chef Buck! Not every piece of fibrous vegetable needs to be eaten. That's why compost exists in the first place.
Me, when you brought out the quinoa: "Marry me"😁. I have a big bag of kale and some fresh spinach and coconut milk and cream. Now I know what to do with them! Thanks so much...
I'm a farmer and I grow alot of kale and WE SAY the same thing, we have Non kale lovers use the leaf only like spinach Smart man YOu too are hilarious! I had to subscribe
Haha I am 63yrs old and my heart great grandma used it when I was a little girl. When I became adult making my own meals. I was looking for the fragrance she had with the greens. One holiday the stores had collatds, mustard, and kale on sale I bought them and put in pot together and WHOOLAH. There was that unique smell. YES. IT WAS THE KALE. NICE😊 at that time not too many people used KALE. I been eating it regularly.
I sautee the kale stems in Chinese dishes. Do a typical beef&broccoli - type deal only use the kale stems instead. One I typically do is a sauce of garlic and ginger with white wine, black pepper and soy sauce that I cook with kale stems and minced pork and whatever mushrooms I have around (usually shiitake or oyster, if I am lucky morels), and it turns out awesome. Also, I always want to tell you, use Korean giant red pepper flakes in curry. You can use a ton without it getting too spicy but it adds great flavor. I do a typical turmeric/cumin/coriander curry with Korean red pepper flakes and everyone loves it because it is not excessively spicy. I also go nuts with mushroom because the good kind (shiitake and such) are liked by everyone, even those who claim they do not like them. I know guys who get morels, and I swear that anything tastes better with some morels in there.
I just love you and camera girl and your recipes look Delish I need to make this one now :-) you are very creative with your food and I Thank You for sharing!!
Take those kale stems and chop them into fine dice and store in your freezer. Next time you are pulling vegetables to saute for soup add some chopped kale stems. Just saute them with your onion, celery, carrot, or whatever you are adding to the soup.
Stems are good in soup, sauteed like Camera Girl said or throw them in a fruit smoothie. The stems blend right in and you don't even taste them. They freeze well too.
Just subscribed. Like that you are cooking with affordable ingredients. You and camera girl seem to have a good time too lol. keep cooking and I'll keep watching.
I'll be growing my own kale for the first time, this year! For us wimps...how about a shot of red bell pepper or some pimento!! teehee. Looking forward to trying out this recipe. ;-)
I always save the stems. i slice them real fine and throw them in the pan with Brussel sprouts, onion, garlic, spinach etc. Top it off with vegan bakun.., YUM! ☺️
Hi Chef Buck, love your videos. I planted Kale last summer and found out nobody likes it. (Except me) I love ALL veggies. But anyway, I would like to know if you have a recipe I could make with frozen, and or dehydrated kale? That I could make for myself? Yeah more for me. :D I have to make two separate vegetables because my husband likes his vegetables cooked till they turn to mush. (yuck). Can you help me with any recipes? Mostly with the dehydrated kale. Thanks
yeah, that was a dinky-do kitchen and I miss it...we've been traveling around and house sitting and we've stayed in some homes with HUGE kitchens....makes me miss my dinky kitchen even more

fruit smoothie? I'll have to tell CG that; she actually makes fruit smoothies quite often, and now she got a bag of stems to use.
Kale stems in smoothies give me the runs ... too much fiber, I think is the reason.
