    "He wrote":
    - Turoyo: Kthule
    - Maaloula: Ikhthab
    - Kthobonoyo: Kthab
    - Hebrew: Katav
    - Arabic: Kataba
    - Akkadian: Ištur
    "I saw":
    - Turoyo: Hzeli
    - Kthobonoyo: Hezith
    - Maaloula: Ihmith (different Aramaic root for "to see")
    - Akkadian: Eppiš
    "I will go":
    - Bohtan (Eastern dialect): Bad zoli
    - Maaloula: Batt Nzill
    - Turoyo: Gdazzino
    - Akkadian: Ana ekū
Western Semitic speakers wouldn't even recognize Akkadian as a Semitic language.

When it comes to language I think many stopped taking Gabriel Afram seriously when he launched his dictionary. He called the language “Assyrian” there which is wrong, it’s Aramaic. When you make mistakes big like this I think people loses their respect for those persons.

Its Suroyo, Assyrian and Aramaic may be the roots but the language have become suroyo and today suryoyo..,. Aramaic and Assyrian is like germanic to german and swedish of today… so it is not wrong to call the language Assyrian today, though suroyo means Asuroyo

@@Beth-zalin just like many others you are trying to give it a new name. It is Aramaic, learn to live with it! The Assyrians speak Aramaic in three different dialects. Aramaic!!!

But swedish is as much german as Assyrian is aramaic,,,, the languages evolve,,, the Assyrian language have roots in Booth Akkadian and Aramaic,,, then some speak western Assyrian (suryoyo) and some eastern (surayt). Easy peasy
