  • Welcome to the Checkered Floor Garage. This video details the process of removing, inspecting, and reinstalling the front wheel for the VN750A, also known as the Vulcan 750.
    Here is the playlist of videos I have made detailing other maintenance & service items on this bike.

    At 1:37 I misspeak and mean to say, "ensure the front brake lever is not accidentally squeezed. If this happens, the brake pads will be pushed out too far and you won't be able to get the front wheel/brake rotor back on without first needing to bleed the brakes".

    When I put the front wheel back on I hear my brakes on my rotors when I'm just pushing it around. Do you know how to adjust the front brakes?

      That also happens on my bike! When I push my bike around the garage I'll hear a very slight noise from the pads in contact with the rotors. So here's my thought on this and feel free to check out VN750.com for further info or you can make a post about it. As long as the noise isn't very loud, or as long as the brakes aren't biting too hard, you should be fine.
      You can also put the Vulcan on its center stand and use a jack to lift up the bottom of the engine as I show in this video (or you can have someone lift up the front of the bike while you do this). Spin the front wheel. Is there a ton of resistance or does the wheel spin freely?

    У тебя редуктор спидометра вышел из строя. Замени на нем сальник. Попала вода и ржавчина поломает тросик спидометра

      Спасибо. Я проверю это... и, возможно, также сделаю об этом видео!

    Hi. Would you happen to know how to replace the gearbox case which the gearbox nestles on? The golden round disk with the slots that matches up to the gearbox?

    • @CFG750
      @CFG750  Год назад

      I do not, sorry. I haven't needed to do this on my bike but if I ever do I WILL make a video about it. Check out the forum at VN750.com. You can search for old posts to help you out, or create a free account and post your question. I am certain someone there will have some helpful insight for you!

      I am pretty sure I got these from Ebay:

    Hey dude just went for a ride an my bike started sputering an speedometer kept reving crazy any idea what it could be

    • @CFG750
      @CFG750  Год назад

      Sputtering could indicate a POOGS issue. Check out this link:
      www.vn750.com/threads/phantom-out-of-gas-syndrome-poogs-correction-and-prevention.17572/#post-165905
      But since you say the bike kept wanting to rev that also makes me think carb. Check if there's a leak around the intake boots of the carbs going to each cylinder. Extra air could be getting into the cylinder and causing the reving.
      Could also need a carb cleaning or tune?

    The plastic connector for the speedo cable broke. Like the part that tightens it... Not sure how to fix this

    • @CFG750
      @CFG750  Год назад

      Sorry to hear that. I think a new speedo cable would be needed because I can't think of any other way to secure that cable into the housing hub on the front wheel.

      @@CFG750 Or i can just tape the cable lol, but I will probably find a way to avoid buying a new cable. Ill find a way somehow I just have to stare and look at the cable and think lol
