In my opinion, "Rock In Me" is the perfect song for Miku. The sound and the meter suits her voice very well, plus it gives Miku a great opportunity to interact with the audience through the call and respond portion of the song. It's so upbeat and joyous the audience can't help but be engaged. I have seen Band-Maid perform the song in two of their live concerts and it's one song from Miku I look forward to. Yes, this song plus a few instrumentals give Saiki a chance to rest her voice during the shows.
Miku songs (electric versions)- Big Dad 2014, Summer drive 2014, Beauty And The Beast 2015, Time 2017, Rock In Me 2018, Sayonakidori 2021, Brightest Star 2023. For me- Time and Sayonakidori are great.
When I met the band in Dallas in 2019, I asked Miku if she was going to sing "Rock in me" tonight Po? She smiled and said, "it's a secret". But yep she did sing it that night!
I wish Band-Maid would release the definitive version of Rock In Me to You Tube, from the Yokohama Arena concert last year. Miku performs it while walking around the gantry and high fiving members of the audience. They owe it to Miku to give her a moment in the spotlight. The reactor-verse would go nuts!
@@polskabob359 Good question! As I recall, there was a brief glimpse of the Lovebites members when Kanami waved to them during Choose Me, not sure about during Miku's number. I believe she did high five Misa's mum. I'm getting the Yokahama concert bluray for Christmas (hopefully, if delivered next week) so I will rewatch this track with interest.
The definitive version is at Zepp Tokyo 2018. Available on Band-Maid Prime. Miku being the most Miku prancing about the stage interacting with the crowd and the other members. The whole comedic routine beforehand when she starts before the other members are on stage.
@ericifune5543 , yes I'm on Band-Maid Prime and have that version as well. Miku doing Miku things! I'll amend my original comment to say that I hope their new management company (which the members control) could consider releasing either version of Rock in Me on their official channel, where it will reach a lot more viewers.
Such a fun song. And the bonus of getting to hear Kanami singing background. That crew member earning his pay just taking care of Miku's mic cord, lol. Vlad! 👍
Kudos to Miku for her fearlessness on interactions with the fans, as this was right after Covid restrictions were released, and to Kanami who, although we didn't know at the time, was struggling badly with anemia at the end of this tour.
One of Vlad's best videos is the video for the song "you" that he recorded in Amsterdam at Melkwig. The sound quality is great, the video is from about 5 feet from Miku and MISA, and the interaction between the two of them during the song is great. You really should react to that soon. And "you" is a kickass song too.
This cd is still my favorite in their catalog . Another from this album that needs more reactions is ‘one and only’ . Well worth checking out. Great song.
Yes, since this is a "give Saiki a rest" song, you'll note that there's backup vocals... that's usually Kanami (as you can clearly see in the live), and sometimes Misa. Their skills are really exensive across all of the band members. I love in the live Christmas set that on one piece Akane even gets to sing backup while drumming. Reactors sometimes feel like they're repeating themselves when they say that a Band-Maid song is good... but it's what you were sort of alluding to, Mike, each song is good in a whole new way, so you feel compelled to note it.
Unfortunately the Maids are booked in Japan through June of 2025. Hoping we get them in the back half of 2025... and then I'm coming down to see them with you at the House of Blues, Mike!
This is what Miku-chan sang @ House of Blues Chicago! I was new to the band back then in 2022 so I wasn't familiar with the instrumentation intricacies yet.
It's nearly impossible to find the good version of 'Rock In Me' LIVE. If you can find it the Comedy False Start is usually chopped off. Such a shame. It was so good.
🙇 Vlad🙏🕊️

Miku rubs that little boys’ head… *crush initiated* 😂. He’ll remember that forever.
Lol. She's a real sweetheart. I can't wait til I get my chance to see them live

Vlad's the man. 6' 4" & with a selfie stick for extra awesome footage reach.😁

They played Rock in Me when I saw them live last year. I was very happy.
If the song doesn't make you smile then there's something seriously wrong with you.
Agreed
As awesome as "Rock in Me" is, Miku's most awesome song (imo) is "Time". ruclips.net/video/1o9GQNy-JOs/видео.htmlsi=7c0CiZTVi6Nh8mND

If you haven't done TIME yet that's a Miku song too. I think you would like it, a totally different feel. I always enjoy your reactions for Band Maid.

That show in Boston was the most fun I've ever had at a concert!

I've always loved the house of blues. Yngwie malmsteen was the last show I saw there. I hope the ladies come back next year
I was at that show , I only found them in September 2022, 2months later they came here
There are lots of videos of Miku doing this song live.... it is usually before, during, or just after Omajinai Time while Saiki is taking a pee break.
I love it
I love the miku songs , brightest star is my new favorite of them
