God bless Shane. I really hope he gets off the sauce for good so we can continue to enjoy his presence. I'm two years sober, and I wouldn't wish my active alcoholism on my worst enemy.
Good for you. I’m seven years sober, and it breaks my heart to see him suffer over the years in vids. I’m glad he did get sober near the end, and found peace and happiness, before he left his body. I’d love to hear his recovery story because getting sober after being drunk for almost 60 years straight, it must have been a lot of demons to face
@@seanogorman3617 Good for you for being sober for 7 years, brother! I guess Shane quit drinking, and I love him and his music, but by the time he "got sober" the game was over--his body and mind were destroyed. I don't consider that recovery. He was drinking wine the whole time--up until alomst the very end. I don't count that as being sober. Let hist story be a warning.
@@peterjonas4971thanks brother. Ya I’m just watching his “crock of gold” documentary and you’re right he’s pretty much drinking til the end. Cut down a bit I think. But his wife did say near the end he had finally forgiven the English, and everyone. Apparently he helped Johnny forgive his x wife. He was into Alan watts and eastern philosophy like myself in sobriety, and found some peace. What a soul tho. He has shaken me up with his character and music
Rest in peace. You will forever be one of the greatest!
These guys were so good together ❤
What a brilliant band the Pogues were, they made amazing Irish for the world to hear, listen, and dance to, and enjoy forevermore.
This is the reason for the Internet.

Good on you Peter, I hope that you are keeping well and still off the sauce but still enjoying dear departed Shane and The Pogues music
