I will always remember this song. My best friend showed me. This was about 3 months before he died tragically in a car accident. It’s been 9 years now & it still hits me every time.
I am sorry for your loss. (This song brings be back to a time too.). To anyone reading this, I hope you are having a good day or evening... and to everyone out there the same.
“Get off the bus.” “I can’t.” “Why not?” “Because it doesn’t hurt here. I don’t want to be in pain, I don’t want to be miserable, and I don’t want him to hate me.” “You can’t always get what you want.”
Man. That show. That hit me harder than just about any show I've ever watched. Hugh Laurie is an amazing actor, and Robert Sean Leonard is right behind him.
My dog of 12 years passed away this morning. I feel weird. Me and my mother were there by his side. I've seen this moment coming weeks back. I've been preparing with prematurely grieving, yet it still hit me like a truck. I'm trying to think about the good things. How he had a happy life, how he lived to see such an advanced age for a dog of his size. I feel a stirring mixture of emotions - joy, sorrow, anger, but the most potent one is a hollow emptiness inside my chest. It feels like something had vanished today. Rest in peace, Fík. I'll miss how you always leapt onto me when I sat down in our armchair in the living room.

such a delicate and vulnerable song, full of sweet and fleeting moments. Wish we could all have memories like these instead of the hard and harsh moments that the modern world tells us we should want.
The hard and harsh moments are what make art connect to the human soul. Not to trash your point, it’s all love. It’s all a piece of the same puzzle, it’s all got a seat at the table
LYRICS There are times that walk from you like some passing afternoon Summer warmed the open window of her honeymoon And she chose a yard to burn but the ground remembers her Wooden spoons, her children stir her Bougainvillea blooms There are things that drift away like our endless, numbered days Autumn blew the quilt right off the perfect bed she made And she's chosen to believe in the hymns her mother sings Sunday pulls its children from the piles of fallen leaves There are sailing ships that pass all our bodies in the grass Springtime calls her children until she let's them go at last And she's chosen where to be, though she's lost her wedding ring Somewhere near her misplaced jar of Bougainvillea seeds There are things we can't recall, Blind as night that finds us all Winter tucks her children in, her fragile china dolls But my hands remember hers, rolling around the shaded ferns Naked arms, her secrets still like songs I'd never learned There are names across the sea, only now I do believe Sometimes, with the window closed, she'll sit and think of me But she'll mend his tattered clothes and they'll kiss as if they know A baby sleeps in all our bones, so scared to be alone

I'm going mad trying to find this song stuck in my head, triggered by the vocal melody at the start of each stanza, with the harmonies. In my head it sounds exactly like the Byrds, all ghostly and mournful but also has hints of Peaceful Easy Feeling by the Eagles, but not at all as cheery. I've searched the RUclipss for days, to the detriment of my job and personal relationships. I swear it's not even that obscure but I can't find it. Did I just invent it?
@@roberthardy6490 I listened to Peaceful, Easy Feeling- you mentioned that the song you're thinking of sounds a lot like the Byrds' music, and reminds you of that Eagles song but less cheery. What you said about being stuck on the opening melodies of the stanzas made me think of Mr. Tambourine Man when I listened, which the Byrds did a recording of? I don't know if this helps at all, but my curiosity is piqued.
@@mellow_mallow actually not a bad call, it's definitely in that direction but it's not the one. I'm convinced it's the Byrds but if it was I should have discovered it by now. There's still the possibility I've invented the whole thing.

The only other thing it reminded me of was Lying Eyes, also by the Eagles- but kind of like you said, they're such a well-known group, so it might not be that. Wooden spoons, her children stir her Bougainvillea blooms
There are things that drift away like our endless, numbered days

And she's chosen to believe in the hymns her mother sings
Sunday pulls its children from the piles of fallen leaves
There are sailing ships that pass all our bodies in the grass
Springtime calls her children until she let's them go at last
And she's chosen where to be, though she's lost her wedding ring
Somewhere near her misplaced jar of Bougainvillea seeds
