Casi todas las grabaciones existentes de este concierto, expresan que su autor es Antonio Rosetti. Además, escuchándolo con atención, no corresponde al estilo melódico gracioso de Joseph Haydn.
It sounds like Haydn at first, but a little bit of analysis reveals a work that, whilst genial, falls well short in its construction of the master's standard.
Haydn really was the greatest of all middle eighteen century born composers, second place was for W. A. Mozart and third place for Antonio Salieri. This is my personal opinion. Everyone may differ my point of view.
Why do you include so many spurious works under Haydn's name, if he didn't compose them? Why not just post under the real composers name, if it's known?
Because Haydn composed it, however there was no publishment, therefore Rosetti uses it as his own and publishes it, but it was Haydn's originally, I think.
Only copies bear the name of Haydn but the manuscript is undoubtedly by Rosetti. The reason behind including spurious works under Haydn's name is twofold: the playlist follows Hoboken's catalog that includes some works that were thought to be Haydn's and have since been correctly attributed and but most importantly it allows listeners to discover other composers and maybe seek other works of theirs on youtube and elsewhere. When the authorship is known, the actual composers are always mentioned.

Do not underrate Luigi Boccherini. Listen to his Complete Clavier Quintets, which are finally getting the attention they deserve.
Why not Rosetti?

+Jack Housman Because it is NOT know, that is why.
+DxSz7 I am not making myself clear, perhaps. If we know that the composers name is Rosetti, why do you list the work as Haydn"s? Thank you.

+DxSz7 It seems to be attributed to Haydn, here's some recent research: repository.asu.edu/attachments/56824/content/Yeh_asu_0010E_10789.pdf
