  • MULATO Ⅱ GRASS ACTUAL PRODUCTION
    MULATO II GRASS - is a three-way Brachiaria hybrid (Brachiaria ruziziensis × Brachiaria decumbens × Brachiaria brizantha). Mulato II is the result of three generations of crosses and screening carried out by CIAT’s tropical forages project in 2004.
    ==================================
    PRODUCTION: ADVERTISED VS ACTUAL
    Technical Specification: 15-20T dry matter per year.
    At assumed moisture content of 75%, and converting dry matter to fresh forage, with 8 cuttings per year, yield per sq.m. is as follows:
    Yield/sq.m. = 20,000kg/ hectare / year x 4 / (8cuttings per year) / 10, 000 sq.m. /hectare
    Expected Yield = 1kg fresh forage / sq.m.
    Actual Yield = 15kg / 10sq.m. = 1.5 kg/ sq.m. (as shown in the video)
    CAVEAT: The actual yield of 1.5kg / sq.m. is only for 1cutting as shown in the video. Subsequent cuttings have not yet been measured. We will measure the next cutting after 45 days on the same area and update the actual production on our farm.
    ==================================
    MOWING AND GRAZING MANAGEMENT
    Mulato II can be used for rotational grazing, green chop, hay or silage according
    to the farmer's needs. In addition, due to the quality of its forage and its productivity.
    Mulato II is very suitable for intensive farming. This hardy and robust species
    tolerates animal wear very well, with a high recovery power after grazing. During
    the rainy season, it is advisable to leave a rest period of 30 to 40 days between
    pastures, depending on the soil and fertilization. During the dry season without
    irrigation, longer rest periods (50 to 60 days) between pastures are
    recommended.
    It is recommended to cut at a height of about 15 cm, both for grazing and
    mowing. By respecting this cutting height, regrowth will be faster.
    The best results will be obtained in good quality soils and with adequate
    fertilization.
    ✔️Good for rotational grazing
    ???Fast-growing (5-6mos grazing ready) and grazed every 30 days.
    ✔️Palatability
    ✔️Weed Suppressant at 6mos. after establishment
    ✔️Drought-tolerant
    ??? Shade-resistant (slower growth rate on shaded areas)
    Leaves - 1m tall , 1-2cm width
    Crude Protein: 14-18%.

      @Agri-VenturesTV  Год назад

      Yes Sir..Mao nay special trait sa Mulato 2, grazing-tolerant/resistant..
      Mka recover ra cya bisag heavy grazing, unlike other grass nga mamatay like Napier, maramais, Setaria, Sorghum, Mombasa, etc..
      So far, mao pa nay grazing-tolerant grass nga among nabal-an, ug tested na sa farm.
      Pero dapat nka rotational grazing ka, 3 days grazing, 27 days rest period or more.

      Mas hinay mutubo ang Mulato 2 kaysa Napier, pero mas taas ug Crude Protein, 14-18%, depende sa soil fertility.

      Ang Mombasa Sir maoy mas kusog mutubo kaysa Napier ug Mulato 2.
      x2-x4 kakusgon sa Napier ang Mombasa, 25-30days harvest interval sa amoang farm.
