Hello. I wanna ask. Why when I install hiren's boot cd v15.2.iso always failed with using Ventoy. The failed message : - No bootfile found for uefi - Maybe the image doesn't support x64 for uefi Could u help me please? I wanna save data on my HDD. Sorry my english is bad.
Your Engilsh is fine, I understood it well enough. Sorry, I had ONLY tried Hiren's with Ventoy on a Virtual PC. It works until you choose a tool as shown, most times it says the tools are not found. Adding a file named ventoy.dat ( www.ventoy.net/en/doc_compatible_mark.html) to the root folder on SOME unbootable disks will fix the issue, but not on the Hiren's disks. If you hit F1 at the Ventoy screen it goes into Memdisk mode. Then when you select an ISO it loads it to your RAM and MOST of the tools work properly, in a VIRTUAL MACHINE. I just tried it on a REAL PC, and in BIOS mode or UEFI mode, I get failures. The Hiren's disk requires a RAM disk to work and it doesn't create that until AFTER it boots. The issue lies in the fact the Hiren's disks are Windows based and the Ventoy installer seems to only recognizes linux style bootloaders for now. I cannot fix this, it is an issue for the Ventoy developers to sort out. They are working on making more disks compatable, but a bootloader is required for every NEW system or PE disk and that isn't easy to code. I hadn't tried it on real hardware before I posted the video, so I had no idea this was an issue. Hiren's ISN'T the best solution for saving data from a PC anyway. There is a far better option using either Gandalf's Win10 PE or Sergei Strelec's WinPE disks. I suggest the Strelec one, as it has the best sets of tools in ANY PE I have seen. It runs from USB fine, but it MUST be installed on it's own, you cannot have it and another PE ISO on the same USB. Both pages linked below show the tools each disk contains. Make sure you have any ANTI VIRUS REAL TIME PROTECTION program turned off before trying to copy the ISO to a USB, as some of the tools get flagged as bad due to the fact they can see and change Windows and other System files. The tools are clean, these are FALSE POSITIVES only. I have used these many times and nothing malicious has happened yet. The other's seem to fail, or make the disk without many of the tools working or installed correctly. @@gutlesspanama5718 HBCD 15.2 ISO is Legacy BIOS only. Open up the ISO and look for an EFI folder (also look in any [BOOT] folder). If no \EFI folder then Legacy only!
