@@robag555 It's a good list that I am going to explore. If you really like Nine Inch Nails, I would recommend Last Rights by Skinny Puppy. Also, Download's first 3 albums are interesting industrial electronica, similar to Aphex Twin, but better. Time's Up by Living Colour might fit your taste in heavy metal.

This is awesome Rob! Been waiting for some insight into your musical tastes (as music is a huge part of my life as well) so thanks for sharing! Definitely going to be checking out some of these titles in my spare time.
I own roughly 50% of the your favorite albums. I had not heard any of the albums that you said, "You probably haven't heard this." except for the Secret Chiefs 3, which I love. Great list. I'll look up the albums that I'm not familiar with.
Honestly I thought that Rob Ager's top 70 albums would be dominated by 60's, 70's and 80's bands, mostly Brittish and prog rock. This list is a suprise !
Rust in Peace and Breakfast in America, two albums on opposite sides of the spectrum and two of the greatest of all time imo 😃👍 Great list Rob! Wish you did more music type content!
Some really great stuff here Rob, I'll definitely check out some of the stuff I haven't heard yet. I'm a bit guilty of sticking to the stuff I already like, so I often rely on my friends who recommended new bands/artists to me. Also it's great to see such a wide range of genres represented here 👍
What a great list! A lot to love on there. It's so good that you just put, for example, Limp Bizkit and Duran Duran out there. Glad to see from comments too that I'm not the only one who remembers the Mad Capsule Markets, we even saw them live. I'll definitely check out a few of the albums I'm not familiar with. Edit : Off the Wall is Jackson's best album though :)
When you declared your No. 1 album I was beaming from ear to ear. I flipped out to that album a lot as a kid. If I had to pick, I'd say the best tune they ever made was Poison, without a doubt.
GREAT Video Rob! I have to admit that i have not listened to most of the albums on your list, but i do appreciate how diverse it is and how it sheds light on your musical personality and interests. I will check out some of the titles that you mentioned and open my mind and ears to them. Thank you Sir! Something else just occurred to me. I would love to see a video of a list of your favorite movie scores / soundtracks. Thank you again Rob and take care. :)
It's a better record in my view. I prefer the rougher production on the first one. The second one didn't grab me quiet as much. They deserved their success at the time though, so I have no problem with Corgan and co making a commercial statement. The one fact I love about the Pumpkins is that when Jimmy Chamberlin was first sacked, Corgan hired 3 drummers to replace him! That's how much the man was missed in that band!
Your playlist reads like a B-sides version of my own regular rotation. Nearly all groups I listen too, some of the specific videos I've even watched before. Kind of like turning on the radio in GTA and hearing songs from your favorite bands you're not used to hearing. I'm trying to say you have great taste mate.
@@robag555 Finally managed to get a copy of Psycho II's FULL soundtrack by Intrada. Although I love both movies, I can confidently say that I love Jerry Goldsmith's score better than Bernard Herrmann's, Goldsmith sounded a lot more creative.
Rob this is one of the most unexpected things I've seen. Your list has a ton of my favorites on it as well. Never would I have thought you'd listen to Roots Bloody Roots and also Gravediggaz. Wild stuff.
Warrel Dane (of 2 of my favorite metal bands Sanctuary & Nevermore) on his 1st solo album did a cover of Sister’s of Mercy’s Lucretia. I’ve been meaning to check them out. I’ll start with Floodland on your recommendation, Rob
I remember seeing Nevermore in Toronto. A friend I'd met in University was opening for them (local band). Merciful Fate were headlining (when King Diamond re-joined the band). They had shit sound so we left. Anyway, Nevermore were a great band.
I like his Metal Mythos vids even though I don't listen to a lot of the bands. I tend not to enjoy heavy metal with high pitched vocals. It annoys me, which is a shame because there's often great instrumentation there.
@@robag555 Well Rob, thanks for giving me a list of cds to check out on spotify. (though I already am very familiar with/own Pink Floyd's The Wall, Sep - Roots, Megadeth 's "Rust in Peace", Fear Factory's Remanufacture, Ministry's "Psalm 69", Machine Head's "Burn My Eyes" and 9incNails's The Downward Spiral; barely remember MJ's Thriller Forgive me if I skip Marylin Manson & Limb Bizkit's "Significant Other" X) lol. I'll try and come up with a list of some great Heavy Metal bands/albums without High Pitched vocals to recommend to you. (Since you're into Industrial Metal, were you ever into Doom or Death Metal?) Off the top of my head: 1st two Diamond Head cds: "Lightning to the Nations" & "Borrowed Time" first five Metallica cds, Motorhead's "Bomber", "Another Perfect Day", "Kiss of Death", "Bastards", "Inferno", " are my personal favs... Alcest's "Ecailles de Lune" cd: French Black Metal with Shoegazing elements... an odd mix, but it's very ethereal sounding to me Nile: a Death Metal band with Egyptian motifs. Recommend "In Their Darkened Shrines" (& 2 previous cds) Pentagram's "Relentless" CD Lee Aaron's "Call of the Wild" and "Metal Queen" Celtic Frost's "Into the Pandemonium" .... Comment's already too long. Lol. I'll stop there for now.
Why has thing just come up on my feed? This is right up my street. I wonder what these algorithms really do. A lot of musical interests that I share. Nice to see the gravediggaz come up. I thought it was one of the best projects RzA worked on prior to the Wu-tang. Loved the whole concept of it. Positive Energy Activates Constant Elevation. ✌🏼
I hope that you decide to make more thematic analysis content of music albums/bands, similar to your old video on The Prodigy. Personally, I would nominate Boards of Canada - their musical output and everything surrounding it is absolutely chock-full of hidden meanings and subliminally encoded themes (not to mention it's just really fucking good music). I feel like those lads' work would be right up your alley, Rob!
Fun fact: that whammy bar dive at the beginning of Kickstart my Heart was lifted from Montrose's Bad Motorscooter. And btw, the Coverdale Page was a surprise. I loved that album.
Big thumbs up for Enigma(criminally underrated) at number 12, and from your commentary I had a feeling The Prodigy would be up there high but didn't expect Music For The Jilted Generation to be #1, still it is a great pick and a timeless album, personally I like Break and Enter the most.
New Breed by Fear Factory absolutely ROCKS! Pardon me, not ROCKS!, I mean... DECIMATES! 😄That track got a lot of play in my flat back in the mid 90s. Excellent choice Rob. I'm still watching but haven't seen them come up yet but did you give any play to the Butthole Surfers during the 90s onwards? Locust Abortion Technician and Electriclarryland are 2 albums I would strongly recommend. Sublimely DaDa-esque, trippy, emotional, wickedly funny but still very poignant at times 👍 Aha! Have just noticed Machine Head - 'let freedom ring with the shotgun blast!' 😉(Davidian). So, so pleased to hear Gravediggaz' Niggamortis is a favourite of yours, I just love that album. I think one of the key weapons in the band's arsenal was having Prince Paul producing it (Prince Paul heavily associated with some of De La Soul's masterwork). But yes, some of his choices for samples and other musical inspiration are just mind bogglingly amusing and subversive. A favourite track for me would be Defective Trip, a track that would accompany a lot of bong smoking back in the day. Have you ever watched the music video for Sepultura's Rattamahatta? Very inventive 👍
All the way through i was thinking he hasn’t mentioned the prodigys gilted generation! Kept me waiting till the last minute! Thats the first album that came to my mind, i still listen to it regularly, i have the double cd album with all the b sides. Best album ever made. I agree with most of the selections in this list but i never really got into heavy rock bands although i have been getting into alice in chains and jerry cantrels solo stuff lately. Some awesome recommendations here
I only have three albums from this list: Peter Gabriel - So, Aphex Twin - Drukqs and The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation, which indeed is a stellar masterpiece! As for the other albums, I have heard only a few of them. This list gave me half a dozen albums/artists to check out so thanks!
Some of them were pleasant surprises to me, I already have copies of UNKLE's Psyence Fiction, Bjork's first album, and Machine Head's Burn My Eyes (along with a few other entries), all of which I love... and then he mentions those albums. And I never thought he liked Tina Turner's Private Dancer 😂😂
At the same time, I used to not be into Massive Attack's Mezzanine album when I was much younger, but having heard the album in full... Wtf am I missing out on!!! Just ordered a copy.
This list floored me as I had no idea you'd be into bands like Sisters of Mercy, Ministry (two albums no less), Stabbing Westward, Fear Factory, Sneaker Pimps, Aphex Twin, Tricky, Acumen Nation, NIN, Recoil, Marilyn Manson, Massive Attack, Slipknot, Sepultura, Senser, Gravediggaz and thank Christ you listed the best Prodigy Album. I'm really surprised you didn't list anything by Pop Will Eat Itself ('87-'95) if you loved the Jilted Generation. Prodigy took a huge page out of PWEI's playbook (and even collaborated with them on the track 'Their Law' from the same album).
I can see a couple of my faves in the thumbnail alone. Drukqs vinyl is a prized possession of mine. Very strange I am only seeing this video now after 2 years
I saw the prodigy at a rave a couple of years before that album came out and loved the album but couldn't listen to the fat of the land and I was getting into all sorts of music by then. Your timing with this is funny to me because I just bought a new copy of the Wall yesterday and other vinyl albums and bought my daughter an Electric Guitar, amp and all so funny timing for me to see your music list up after I just did that yesterday.
@@transmissionggb2820 I wanted to see Prodigy in 2018 because they were playing in a venue 2 hours' drive away from where I live, but I had too much work due by the deadline, so I skipped. Big mistake for me, I suppose a consolation for me would be that I allowed one or two other people to go there instead if it was sold out. I recently saw the Jilted Generation tribute band here in Dorset, I don't think they were the real deal, but the place became a mosh pit!!! Guys there were nice, actually.
Rob! Great video. Im sure you know this or someone else commented, RZA from Wu Tang was also an influential member of GraveDiggaz. Might be why you like both 36 Chambers & 6 feet deep.
Yes, and I've always been disappointed that Gravediggaz was sidelined for Wu-Tang ... but probably Gravediggaz didn't need to carry on. I can't imagine how they would have topped that album. in fact when they did try to carry on the project the result was very poor. Having said that I liked some of the other Wu stuff too.
@@collativelearning You made my night replying!! I also totally agree. There is an album under the Wu tang umbrella by GZA called liquid sward you may like. Thanks for your videos brother.
It would be impossible to come up with a top albums of all time. #1 is not impossible, that #1 is David Bowie's "Low". A few weeks ago, Pitchfork Media, music website based in the States, had a reader's poll asking for their readers Top 25 albums from the last 25 years, 1996-2021. Here was my list in numerical order: #1 : DJ Shadow: Endtroducing… #2 : Neutral Milk Hotel: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea #3 : The Flaming Lips: The Soft Bulletin #4 : Grimes: Visions #5 : Radiohead: Kid A #6 : Daft Punk: Homework #7 : Boards of Canada: Music Has the Right to Children #8 : Madvillain: Madvillainy #9 : J Dilla: Donuts #10 : Burial: Untrue #11 : Björk: Homogenic #12 : Chemical Brothers: Dig Your Own Hole #13 : Beck: Odelay #14 : Robyn: Body Talk #15 : Janelle Monáe: The ArchAndroid #16 : Portishead: Third #17 : Sigur Rós: Ágætis Byrjun #18 : LCD Soundsystem: Sound of Silver #19 : Tame Impala: Lonerism #20 : Real Estate: Atlas #21 : Courtney Barnett: Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit #22 : Sufjan Stevens: Illinois #23 : Wild Nothing: Nocturne #24 : The White Stripes: De Stijl #25 : Air: Moon Safari That was all from a list of about 70 some odd albums that I created as a master list.
@@robag555 I'm not sure if you have heard this album, but I really think you would like Burial's "Untrue". It is electronic, but very dark and moody. There are also moments of R&B and soul that sort of balance the album out. Archangel is the standout track for me. Give it a listen... ruclips.net/video/wA9XOGfHB9Y/видео.html
I will be checking your recommendations :) Few years ago I gave my friend who lives abroad a pendrive with MY fav music from last 10 years. I have added some more to my fav folder. After covid I will prepare a new pendrive with new albums ;) From what I can see there will be in yours list some music I also listen. After I watch your video I can write few titles if you will be interested :)
Ministry? twice? i would've lost the farm on that bet. Megadeth RIP Hanger 18 isn't even the 4th best song off that album-Holy Wars, Tornado of Souls, Lucretia, Polaris, five magics.
Had a quick check of your list. Will watch the video later. I live in Australia so always recommend people listen to Lamb - Lusty if they enjoy trip hop. I'm sure you already have heard it though.... but just in case, I'll mention it anyways. No need to thank me for helping you out again Rob. Delighted to see Angel Dust in there (I had a sneaky feeling you might have it on) And completely agree with you about Fear Factory's Remanufacture. 21st Century Jesus and Self Bias Resistor are my favourites on it.

Kool Keith's Black Elvis had some very funny stuff on it with some cool beats. The new Scorn album has a track with Kool Keith called Distortion. Killing Joke is good and I really like that some of them worked with Prong of which Cleansing is an awesome metal/industrial album.
Bjork's "Debut". The standout track is "Venus as a Boy" for me. Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dream". The standout track is "Hummer" for me. "Black Milk" was the name of the Massive Attack track off Mezzanine.
@@robag555 At this point, I'd be more excited to hear new stuff from Recoil over Depeche Mode (this coming from someone who has certainly enjoyed DM's music).
Grunge was pretty hit or miss, but I always thought Sound Garden was underrated. Down On The Upside was a great album My mom loves So Peter Gabriel. Definitely a great album
@@coffeegrindz9901 Maybe for the time, but the only grunge you hear on radio these days is Pearl Jam and Nirvana, and anytime they play Sound Garden it's Blackhole Sun
Speaking of Lynch, I quite like some of his own music. Moody, dark, mysterious - Lynchian, I suppose. Wonder if the Tina Turner song you mention refers to her belief in being part of the Pharaonic nobility during a past life in Egypt, a notion I would have scoffed at before delving into the scholarly work of Prof. Ian Stevenson's research into reincarnation. And thanks for sharing. Already found some bangers like the Secret Chiefs 3 album you mention at 33. Been caning it with the volume set to balls to the wall with that album tonight. Great music by the Secret Chiefs. Will check out the rest of their work.
Knew I liked you for a reason. Excellent taste in music, man! Remanufacture-Fear Factory caught me off guard. I had it in highschool and jammed it all the time. Go get stoned in my car with 4 friends. Everybody loved it. My first girl was a "Manson chick". So, I listen to my share of Antichrist Superstar. Lost my virginity to Deftones-Adrenaline album. If I had one disappointment...no Pantera or Down.
Cheers. You know what, I wanted to add a Pantera album on the list. There are several I like, but for some reason none of them were consistently good enough in my view to add.
Oooh yes! I love Pantera's Cowboys from Hell, superb instrumentals. Definitely not my fav metal album, but still really good fun. Wasn't keen on their follow up stuff for some reason, but might go back to those.
Cheers everyone! This video and comment section so far has been a gold mine for quality music. Here's my own choices to recommend you lot: Straight Outta Compton - NWA Cowboys from Hell - Pantera Astro Creep 2000 - White Zombie Hellbilly Deluxe - Rob Zombie Pornography - The Cure The Predator and Lethal Injection - Ice Cube Peace Sells, but Who's Buying - Megadeth
This list is for you to check out Robb, or anyone who is interested in some good music. More of it is newer than older but the oldest it will probably get is from the 90's. I also recommend checking it out in this order as some is probably not best to start out with but if you can appreciate the first ones then you will either like the latter ones or grow to appreciate them. I will add in parentheses the genre and additional notes. 1. Underdogs by Matthew Good Band (One of the best 90's rock albums, very "alternative" easy going and beautiful. Most tracks are uplifting, but some are more serious.) 2. Sweet Oblivion by Screaming Trees (Another great 90's rock album but with a more blues feel to it. This one is very uplifting and has soul to it, its a classic and I highly recommend it as it has many great tracks.) 3. You'd Prefer an Astronaut by Hum (This is easily one of my favorite albums of all time, as well as bands. Another banger from the 90's. If you like heavy shoegaze like me, this then will be your jam. If you like this one, then check out their follow up album Downward is Heavenward. Standout tracks would be "I'd Like Your Hair Long, The Pod and Suicide Machine". ) 4. Ours is Chrome by Superheaven (A newer rock band but it is definitely worth checking out. A more uplifting sound than their previous Jar album, but I recommend both as they're very simple masterpieces.) 5. Bugg by Bugg (This has a very Nirvana feel to it, but better in my opinion. Give this one a listen, as it opens wonderfully and keeps you listening.) 6. 12th House Rock by Narrow Head (This has got to be my favorite band, and although I prefer their album Satisfaction more, that one is more melancholy and dark. I'm recommending this one as it is more upbeat and think it to be a better introduction to the band. But there are dark ones here and upbeat ones on the other. It's heavy shoegaze by the way.) 7. The Money Store by Death Grips (I think this is the best introduction to the band because as they progress their sound becomes more experimental and strange. But once someone recognizes their genius they become a lifetime fan. This is industrial, electronic, experimental rock hip-hop. After this one check out Bottomless Pit, but endure the first two tracks at first because they might be strange and you may find them insane. They sound different than the rest of the album.) 8. Ohms by Deftones (Obviously everyone has their tastes when it comes to Deftones but this album is a masterpiece in my opinion and I think is their best work. It fuses all the Deftones albums of the past together and it shows that age refines us over time.) But that's all I got for now, if you or anyone else checks these out and digs them I might post some more. I love sharing good music.
Need to check out as much tool and modest mouse as possible, add a little David Bowie and radiohead with a ton of 70s funk and R&B. Gravediggaz has always been a personal favorite rap album of mine also.
Thanks. I've not heard a lot of Biohazard but what I did hear I liked. Love this little track they did for the Demon Knight soundtrack. ruclips.net/video/NGVBvl_G218/видео.html
Great list. Couple in here I’m glad to see others appreciate like that space album, Portishead and the prodigy . And cool to see Antichrist superstar on here , that’s an amazing album to me. Also in my opinion that NIN album at number two defenitly deserves that spot. I love the reptile song - I heard David Bowie liked it as well, fun fact.
Curious about your opinions on the bands Helmet, Gang of four (the first 3 albums) and Joy division (too moany?) . I grew out of hating 'commercial' music when I turned about 18, I think it's a phase some people get stuck in and I guess that's fine (you we're being a bit defensive on a few of your picks ;) )
Similar tastes in music as well, many of those have been with me for many years too. I really recommend you the bands Enon and Lodger, and the british artist Whitey. I´m really sure you´ll like them. The Fragile is my favourite album from NIN, probably my favourite band, Thanks for posting
@@robag555 Me too, I even found one called Rusty Nails, which i believe was a real rarity, a "friend" dissapeared with it... You say Music for the jilted Generation is the best dance album, and i freekin love it, but The light at the end of the tunnel is a Train by Whitey is up there too. Try his songs, seriously :)
Have you checked out Carpenter Brut’s Trilogy album, I feel like you would particularly like it because of your taste in movies and love for the 80s and 90s.
Nice. I'd never heard of 'The Poor', 'Acumen Nation', 'The Secret Chiefs 3', 'Recoil', Stina Nordenstam, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Quarashi, or Senser. Thanks. Plenty of cool stuff here. Just for kicks, the bands that popped into my head upon hearing each of these, respectively: (?, Pitchshifter, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Puscifer, Modern Trent Reznor, ?, Beastie Boys, Gunshot (UK, Patriot Games - 1993). Kind of a curve-ball, but I'm finding 'Alex Terrible' of 'Slaughter to Prevail' an interesting guy. His band is pretty raw and brutal. And for whatever reason the beautiful album 'Weather Systems' by Anathema just popped into my head.
Could you review Warrior, season 1 to 3? Its based on Bruce Lees vision of a show that was stolen from him. Great actors, action and storytelling! Andrew Koji and Dean Jagger are standout stars.

Some really great stuff here Rob, I'll definitely check out some of the stuff I haven't heard yet. I'm a bit guilty of sticking to the stuff I already like, so I often rely on my friends who recommended new bands/artists to me. Also it's great to see such a wide range of genres represented here 👍
Happens to all of us, I mean I'm a 2000's kid, so a lot of my family and friends tend to like the more well-known and well-advertised stuff.
Off the Wall was excellent yes.
I almost lost it when I seen mad capsule markets I'm glad others out there know good music.
@@ZeroOdyssey honestly same thing here
When you declared your No. 1 album I was beaming from ear to ear. I flipped out to that album a lot as a kid. If I had to pick, I'd say the best tune they ever made was Poison, without a doubt.
Gravediggaz, respect, subbed
Interesting taste, not necessarily my cup of tea but I appreciate how different it is
great selection rob luv your channel .
XYZ and Where Boys Fear to Tread are great choices. Truly a patrician. I get so sick if people saying 1979.
Honestly I think 1979 is one of the weaker songs both on that disc and of the Mellon Collie set. Never really liked the vibe, just didn't work for me.
Cheers, might well do a scores list.
Gish was the first release by the Smashing Pumpkins, not Siamese Dream. Great list, some amazing choices 👍🏻
So it was, thanks for the correction.
I'm trying to say you have great taste mate.
thank you sir and I'll say you have good taste too
I discovered Aphex Twin through the GTA radio!
Hell yes Rob. I love that you are a fan of Prodigy. I am too!
Can you do one with favorite movie soundtracks ?
I might well do that
@@robag555 Finally managed to get a copy of Psycho II's FULL soundtrack by Intrada. Although I love both movies, I can confidently say that I love Jerry Goldsmith's score better than Bernard Herrmann's, Goldsmith sounded a lot more creative.
@@moviearchaeologist9655 Absolutely sublime score. Not sure which version of the soundtrack I have though
@@moviearchaeologist9655 Jerry Goldsmith was the chamaleon of composers. Quite the innovator 2.
Rob this is one of the most unexpected things I've seen. Your list has a ton of my favorites on it as well. Never would I have thought you'd listen to Roots Bloody Roots and also Gravediggaz. Wild stuff.
Very pleasing to see the John Spencer Blues Explosion in your list Rob.
Live they're incredible too.
@@robag555 Saw them in 2002. One of the loudest shows I've ever seen.
Any thoughts on Rageaholic’s Metal/Music Mythos?
I like his Metal Mythos vids even though I don't listen to a lot of the bands. I tend not to enjoy heavy metal with high pitched vocals. It annoys me, which is a shame because there's often great instrumentation there.
@@robag555
Ah, so the Falsetto singing of Rob Halford and the high pitched “Ring Wraith” screeching in black metal never did anything for you?
@@MCCrleone354 Afraid not.
@@robag555 Well Rob, thanks for giving me a list of cds to check out on spotify.
(though I already am very familiar with/own Pink Floyd's The Wall, Sep - Roots, Megadeth 's "Rust in Peace", Fear Factory's Remanufacture, Ministry's "Psalm 69", Machine Head's "Burn My Eyes" and
9incNails's The Downward Spiral; barely remember MJ's Thriller
Forgive me if I skip Marylin Manson & Limb Bizkit's "Significant Other" X) lol.
I'll try and come up with a list of some great Heavy Metal bands/albums without High Pitched vocals to recommend to you. (Since you're into Industrial Metal, were you ever into Doom or Death Metal?)
Off the top of my head:
1st two Diamond Head cds: "Lightning to the Nations" & "Borrowed Time"
first five Metallica cds,
Motorhead's "Bomber", "Another Perfect Day", "Kiss of Death", "Bastards", "Inferno", " are my personal favs...
Alcest's "Ecailles de Lune" cd: French Black Metal with Shoegazing elements... an odd mix, but it's very ethereal sounding to me
Nile: a Death Metal band with Egyptian motifs. Recommend "In Their Darkened Shrines" (& 2 previous cds)
Pentagram's "Relentless" CD
Lee Aaron's "Call of the Wild" and "Metal Queen"
Celtic Frost's "Into the Pandemonium"
Am intending to. Might actually re-edit that Prodigy analysis vid at some point.
@@robag555 Definitely needs an update, still a good video as it is. :)
Any plans of releasing a list of your favorite TV series? Would be much appreciated
Yes! List are my favorite videos from you!
Fun fact: that whammy bar dive at the beginning of Kickstart my Heart was lifted from Montrose's Bad Motorscooter.
And btw, the Coverdale Page was a surprise. I loved that album.
Subliminal Verses gang RISE UP
Wow, a lot of my favourites in here as well :)
Sublimely DaDa-esque, trippy, emotional, wickedly funny but still very poignant at times 👍
Aha!
Butthole Surfers fucking rule!
@@petrirantanen Damn Straight! 😄👍
Please do a film analysis video of the Wall movie! I love that film.
Some awesome recommendations here
Jilted, can't beat that one.
Great list 👍👍 there is some albums I haven't listened to for a long time on there .thanks for sharing🙏🙏
We definitely have similar musical likes! Must be a generational thing, since we're so distinct geographically. You're awesome, Rob!
I remember pwei being popular but never got to hear much of their stuff.
incredible list tbh
I can see a couple of my faves in the thumbnail alone. Drukqs vinyl is a prized possession of mine. Very strange I am only seeing this video now after 2 years
Thanks for the list Rob. By the way, Gish was the first Pumpkin's album - with Rhinoceros, and Snail on it.
I finally got to see them about six months before Keith died. Awesome gig.
@@collativelearning yeah they were up here in Aberdeen with public enemy around that time, I missed it.

Here was my list in numerical order:
#1 : DJ Shadow: Endtroducing…
#2 : Neutral Milk Hotel: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
#3 : The Flaming Lips: The Soft Bulletin
#4 : Grimes: Visions
#5 : Radiohead: Kid A
#6 : Daft Punk: Homework
#7 : Boards of Canada: Music Has the Right to Children
#8 : Madvillain: Madvillainy
#9 : J Dilla: Donuts
#10 : Burial: Untrue
#11 : Björk: Homogenic
#12 : Chemical Brothers: Dig Your Own Hole
#13 : Beck: Odelay
#14 : Robyn: Body Talk
#15 : Janelle Monáe: The ArchAndroid
#16 : Portishead: Third
#17 : Sigur Rós: Ágætis Byrjun
#18 : LCD Soundsystem: Sound of Silver

@@robag555 I'm not sure if you have heard this album, but I really think you would like Burial's "Untrue". It is electronic, but very dark and moody. There are also moments of R&B and soul that sort of balance the album out. Archangel is the standout track for me. Give it a listen...

This list is a big surprise, in a good way. Solid records. Good list.
I will be checking your recommendations :) Few years ago I gave my friend who lives abroad a pendrive with MY fav music from last 10 years. I have added some more to my fav folder. Ministry? twice? i would've lost the farm on that bet.
Megadeth RIP Hanger 18 isn't even the 4th best song off that album-Holy Wars, Tornado of Souls, Lucretia, Polaris, five magics.

Hey, Robert "Bob" Ager, please make a video about Pink Floyd - Live at Pompeii 1972, it's really like Kubrick-level film making.
Here's my own choices to recommend you lot:

Astro Creep 2000 - White Zombie
Hellbilly Deluxe - Rob Zombie
Pornography - The Cure
The Predator and Lethal Injection - Ice Cube
Peace Sells, but Who's Buying - Megadeth
Gravediggaz "6 feet deep" is incredibly well made. It has so many layers to it.

Great collection of music with some surprises.
1. Underdogs by Matthew Good Band
(One of the best 90's rock albums, very "alternative" easy going and beautiful. Most tracks are uplifting, but some are more serious.)
2. Sweet Oblivion by Screaming Trees
(Another great 90's rock album but with a more blues feel to it. This one is very uplifting and has soul to it, its a classic and I highly recommend it as it has many great tracks.)
3. You'd Prefer an Astronaut by Hum
(This is easily one of my favorite albums of all time, as well as bands. Another banger from the 90's. If you like heavy shoegaze like me, this then will be your jam. If you like this one, then check out their follow up album Downward is Heavenward. Standout tracks would be "I'd Like Your Hair Long, The Pod and Suicide Machine". )
4. Ours is Chrome by Superheaven
(A newer rock band but it is definitely worth checking out. A more uplifting sound than their previous Jar album, but I recommend both as they're very simple masterpieces.)
5. Bugg by Bugg
(This has a very Nirvana feel to it, but better in my opinion. Give this one a listen, as it opens wonderfully and keeps you listening.)
6. 12th House Rock by Narrow Head
(This has got to be my favorite band, and although I prefer their album Satisfaction more, that one is more melancholy and dark. I'm recommending this one as it is more upbeat and think it to be a better introduction to the band. But there are dark ones here and upbeat ones on the other. It's heavy shoegaze by the way.)
7. The Money Store by Death Grips
(I think this is the best introduction to the band because as they progress their sound becomes more experimental and strange. But once someone recognizes their genius they become a lifetime fan. This is industrial, electronic, experimental rock hip-hop. After this one check out Bottomless Pit, but endure the first two tracks at first because they might be strange and you may find them insane. They sound different than the rest of the album.)
8. Ohms by Deftones
(Obviously everyone has their tastes when it comes to Deftones but this album is a masterpiece in my opinion and I think is their best work. It fuses all the Deftones albums of the past together and it shows that age refines us over time.)
But that's all I got for now, if you or anyone else checks these out and digs them I might post some more. I love sharing good music.
Need to check out as much tool and modest mouse as possible, add a little David Bowie and radiohead with a ton of 70s funk and R&B. Gravediggaz has always been a personal favorite rap album of mine also.
Wow. I had no idea you had such good taste in music. I'm betting Biohazard would make your top 100??

Also in my opinion that NIN album at number two defenitly deserves that spot. I love the reptile song - I heard David Bowie liked it as well, fun fact.
Third eye blind? Some good albums - the guy went to English school I think - really good poetry. You seem more of a stoic type though
You and I share a lot of the same tastes. Between Tricky and Sepultura, that is THE 90s/early 2000s ost.
The 90's was great for musical variety.

Just for kicks, the bands that popped into my head upon hearing each of these, respectively:
(?, Pitchshifter, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Puscifer, Modern Trent Reznor, ?, Beastie Boys, Gunshot (UK, Patriot Games - 1993).
