Chicago is so clean. Compared to NYC, Chicago is definitely more laid-back. Chicago feels more "homey" than New York does. NYC is more caught up in its own sense of self-importance. Chicago is like "Whatever. Welcome and please enjoy the city".
New York is a living room, a lot of guests, so it seems that there is no comfort, and Chicago is a distant room with a fireplace, watching a cup of tea falling snow and Lake Michigan)))
Chicago downtown is far better than LAs. LA is creepy. Mostly, everyone drives there. If you are walking, you're suspect. Chicago has the best downtown I been to.

This is real Chicago. 97% of the city is this nice. Then people who never been here think the remaining 3% represents us. Nah. This city is beautiful and safe. Never leaving. Women here are also 🥵 😁
@@debartellomartinez7214 Hyde Park is gorgeous.... and still gentrifying. Yes to its west are poorer all Black areas as more in the hood. Downtown i 6-10 miles north of that anyway. Many areas once declined around it gentrified and still going... the West Loop to the United Center where the Bulls and Black Hawks play is now all Professionals and was once warehousing and meat-packing district. West of the United Center gets into areas again of declines. Most of the North side is pretty darn good. Chicago's street-grid has set-back fronts for green and most times soaring trees. Behind streets are alleys lined with garages or additional parking and small yards. The city was lucky to have them alleys to run the ugly power-line pole thru freeing the fronts for those soaring trees and not blemished where it is open front small lawns. Chicago's lakefront is kept public access with parks, harbors and beaches and walking/jogging through 26-miles of the city proper along the lake. Most of it is man-made from what it originally had was lost by early industry. Some early Progressives and industrialist that built the city and retail in America.... saw fit to have the city remake a new lakefront and all thru the 20th century it was added to by landfill to what it is today. Downtown had its declines as the 60s 70s were unkind to all our legacy cities... California though was booming and thru all the 20th century. Chicago still us into the 50s and not so much after though its last growth of new neighborhoods was early 60s on the edge of the city proper. Plenty of great neighborhoods..... throughout that look great and CLEAN... even its hoods were cleaned up with street-cleaning service thru the city spring thru late fall and blight at a high cost cleared out 90s onward.... far cry from what it looked like in the 80s yet.... like it was literally bombed that was erased to prairie again for a era the NORTH RISES AGAIN.
Place seems hellish to me, too many people roaming around. & if no one of these selfish asses seen here cares about anything else than themselves, whats the point in being there?

This video irresponsibly portrays Chicago as a place that can be safely visited without regard nothing could be further from the truth.
Oh? When was the last time you visited/which neighborhoods? Or if you live there what area do you reside?
