- Welcome to our BRAND NEW VANILLA series! As well as serving as an update to the year's template, this series will also serve as the ultimate guide to playing and building in my style as we hopefully head towards the end of the life cycle of Cities 1...This series will continue as episodes. Today we are introducing Green Cities into the save and also combining it with some major elevated network systems combined with mixed zoning to create a really cool inland green cities area without water. Enjoy.

2:59 Just getting started and drawn in with some dark bus-lore.
Egg knows his audience well.
Said in the most serious tone ever!!! ☠☠☠☠☠
@@jcosunshine dry British humor is the only kind
@@trock7542 I love it
@@jcosunshine thats the only way
What a gorgeous Green Cities build, hiding the dark underworld of the city where Cims must walk or otherwise be devoured by the buses.
I believe you placed a fire station in the main industrial area on a one way road. The fire engines would have to take a long route to get to where a fire is.
I mean...you do occasionally get tents under arterial roads, but these are not nature reserves.
"Excuse me mayor, we are still waiting for electricity," fire helicopter building.
Over, I love this!
"The buses continue to become increasingly more powerful as they devour the souls of the Cims." 🤣 If I hadn't subbed already that would've had me instantly LMAO. I'm taking this as canon to C:S lore now
Respect the topography.. am I watching anew CPP video. lol. Love your videos and CPP's. Really liking your noob guide, since even after playin Cities for years i am still a Noob.
Always thought following the topography is so good instead of terraforming the area to suit your needs but coming from playing on console you can’t bring up the height map while doing roads which makes it a lot more difficult but not impossible. Now playing on PC having a lot more options i’m definitely working more with the topography has been fun! Great episode also love monorails!
The souls of the sims - sounds like another (dark) DLC ;)
I couldn't resist expanding the tram line last episode, so wasn't sure if I was in for a complete overhaul this episode or just integrating what I did into this new build. Looks like a little integrating will work out just fine. Can't wait to get building on this one. I already have green cities in the area around the park/tram station, so this will blend nicely with the new green cities area on the opposite side of the highway. I'm am having a ton of fun with this build. Thanks!
I fell asleep to this episode last night and thought I'd dreamt the thing about buses devouring souls, but rewatching it now I realise that no, that was real.
Following the topography makes cities look so much more natural and elegant. 🌟
Holy, the helicopter at the end that was nice.
Commenting to help! 🙌🏽👏🏽☺️😊
Another fantastic video Egg.
You truly are one of the best Creators! My cites have become massively more natural organic cities thanks to your tutoring.
Cheers bud
Nicely done, loving the green look
I finally started a new city in cities. I used this series' as my guide but I don't want to make a copy of it, and my previous city was on this map, so I'm building on Azure Gulf. I actually went back and watched your map tier lists to make a choice for my city. So far I was only able to build until the second episode though. :D
I love the idea of using that bowl topography like that, in my city it definitely wasn't looking so good. xD Also has anyone else heard Ted Mosby everytime Egg said "bowl"?
Great video as always, Egg. Thank you!
Working with uneven (and realistic) terrain really can be a challenge in vanilla. I will steal the idea of raised road and a geo-reserve below it. One thing I'd like to see you explore is vanilla ways to approach shattered zoning - and making sure the assets pop against the road you want them to. I've been playing a bit with fences and paths against road with some success and I bet you could take this to another level! Can help immensely on varied terrain.
Amazing ideias as always, but i think it would be interesting to see a bike line on the other side of the main road crossing the green district, would be such a nice add to the green area.
The tip about double decker busses was solid gold! Thank you.
Don't forget with the new content creator you can change the trees on the roads and the decorative paths.
I don’t have the double decker busses 😭
Are they included with the vehicles dlc?
Thank you for keeping the vanilla and Green Cities vibe alive. Also happy the monorail keeps coming. 😀
Question: would it have made sense to maybe try another form of mass transport instead of the bus extension? Or another addition of like a tram or trolley bus? As the other stops were not so busy, only this one around the metro station?
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it!
Really in that case it was a situation where the bus wasn't looping back around the opposite side of the street, combined with the metro & trams nearby, the people wanting to use the buses were doing the entire loop just to get off a similar end of the city, hence the back log! A mirrored stop on the same street and some larger capacity fixes it :)
oh, this build is looking Fabulous!
Great build . When is next part?
Excellent :)
how do you end your highway
Man I just wish my gardener plays cities skylines so I can ask him to landscape my city, cause I suck at it, don't know wich trees for which parts.
Will we get some more map tierlist videos in the future? I really enjoy them and you haven't covered all the dlcs yet.
I'm just about to upload the Parklife map tierlist bro, be in the next hour :)
Really enjoying the series. Learning a lot. When are you going to get rid of coal and rework the original industry area? I have been waiting for that, as I really hate that area on my choice of map.
I'll eventually develop that area into a power station probably once I unlock the assets I need :)
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG ah, I see. Yeah I don't know which assets come from DLC or vanilla haha. I have been eyeballing the geothermal plant for a while, meanwhile I presumed Industries (your forestry) would simply replace the generic.
hey, what is the building at 35:57 in the top left intersection? cannot find it anywhere, thanks! great series btw, I love every second of it!!
That is the vanilla police station :) Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG awesome thank you so much have a great weekend

What size gaming computer should I get?
Depends what you want to play :)
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG city skylines only
@@marcusadams02 Cities is mostly CPU intensive as the city grows. If you're planning heavily modded. RAM and GPU will go a long way too. But for the base game and its DLC's my rig would be overkill. Specs in the descriptions
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG thank you. I'm going to get a large one then
PCs are upgradeable by design, so look for one that supports the latest standards because you can upgrade it gradually over time if the foundation is solid.
Techradar has a review looking at motherboards in 2022, for instance.
"The best motherboard 2022: the top Intel and AMD motherboards we've seen"
By Jackie Thomas , Michelle Rae Uy published January 26, 2022
This will give you an idea of:
- what the current socket types are, "newer Intel processors use either LGA 1151 or 2066 while the latest AMD Ryzen architecture is designed for the AM4 chipset,"
which ram is currently the most recent, DDR4
and which usb protocol is up to date, usb 3 and usb-c.
You don't have to be thinking of building your own system to read these reviews. They'll help you identify what's current to future-proof your investment as much as you can.
Screw the Topography!
I absolutely love the view @40.10. So OE . The different layers of height, the backdrop, green cities high density buildings. Just fabulous. You did such a good job of integrating those big rock assets that I get the feeling your not a huge fan of, and yet here they work really well. It would have been a good opportunity to incorporate the bouldering rock, but is still ace without it. The only surprise about your having nearly 45k subs is that the number is still so low. People are missing out.
