- I'm not a homesteader. I'm not trying to live off the grid or anything. I spend about five minutes a day in my garden, and here's what I haven't had to buy at the grocery store in years. If I can do it, you can do it too! These are simple plants you can grow in a small space so that you never have to buy them again.

I wish I could convince more people to do this! I do sell a lot of these things at the farmers market though, so I guess for me maybe it’s good that they don’t want to grow their own ha ha
I've been trying to do kale for year's. 😂 the bugs get it when it's warm, the bunnies when it's cold. Lol
Try using garden mesh. It keep bugs and bunnies out
I do buy my herbs from the local grocery store because I usually get 10 - 20 plants in the pot. I separate the plants, pot them, and have herbs all season as well as not having to purchase the perennials again. Good video.

lol $2.99 per plant for Oregano? I just saw them yesterday at lowes for$5.89 a plant !!!
It's still cheaper to buy a plant for $5.89 and keep harvesting from it than to keep paying for those little plastic boxes, which are also going up in price
Can you frow the garlic in a pot? Will it survive the winter in zone 5(?)
You can grow garlic in a pot, but you'll have to monitor it daily. It'll die back during winter
@@Gardenary thank you. Monitor it for what exactly? Will it come back in the Spring, or would it be best to bring the pot inside , during Winter, so that it can keep producing?
