These kinda tutorials are so rare to find. No drama, no clickbait, no drag. To the point and very well described. It feels great to find this. Thank you.
Great information! I've always been interested in synthesis, but have never really studied it. I'll definitely be checking out more of your videos. Keep up the good work! God bless!
Absolutely fantastic! Thank you! I was using the BOSS SY300 guitar synthesizer pedal to create a bass-guitar-like note underneath my guitar's chords, and I didn't know that what I had selected was called a "quarter pulse" wave, but that was definitely the waveform that sounded the most like an electric bass guitar. I will select an EQ effect and an envelope to shape it some more like you've done. Thanks again!
@@OleansHouse I mean I think that you're killing it. I guess if I had to pick 1 thing that I have not really seen broken down would be how to get a thick sine-like bass like Common's Thelonius. Whenever I try I get more of an 808 feel.
@@joetexan7072 for this sound I would prob use an eBass sample and use the samplers filter to high cut and drive the sample. adjusting the resonance will also boost the low mids if you bring the cut off of the filter down. this will give it this classic boxi sound. Im pretty sure these guys were using samples instead of synths in this case :)
Great video brother! :) Very interesting. Is the decay time dynamic, i.e. dependent upon the velocity at which a note is being played? If not, can it be made so?
Nice question! So in Sylenth1 you unfortunately cant modulate the decay time. (I think..85%sure^^) But you can use dynamic processors such as compressors and transient shapers to achieve this effect.
@@TheStupidGuyWithBlip thats sick :) can you modulate all parameters of the envelope? Or just the depth in which it is applied to whatever the envelope is controlling?
Hey, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I do have a request. I want to recreate some on those nasty bass esthetics you can find on french touch productions for funky basslines. Trying to recreate an analogic sound is going on the right direction but there are multiple ideas to explore both on sound design and mixing

Please keep uploading my friend never stop your channel is exactly what I as someone who is new to synthesis was looking for!
Really good stuff, thanks.
Thanks man..the only one on electric bass...all other are 808...fat...rees and stuff...i apreciated this one!

Excellent mate

Many other synthesizers let you modulate the envelope with the velocity, I know Massive does at least.

Olean's House Yea you can modulate the attack time, decay time, sustain, etc. I think Helm can do it as well, and I’ve seen you use that one.
@@TheStupidGuyWithBlip You're right! Thanks for sharing your knowledge :D

nice! :) do you maybe have a track example that I can check out?
sweet! thx
