You wouldn't say that if you were from here and have to listen to that kind of voice at a million decibels nippin yer heed every day...("Nippin yer heed" eg giving one a headache) 😂
I remember at the time back then that many thought in the UK that they were two girls that performed some very 'poppy' songs but dressed like goths and that the two styles didn't match. There were also doubts regarding whether they could play their own instruments or if they wrote their own material. I leave it up to you out there to correct these opinions if incorrect but it was more or less the general consensus back then. I actually rather liked them.
They were entirely of their time. It was a wonderful time. If you mean they were ahead of the mainstream, I agree, but we ignored the mainstream, and you'd see girls like Rose and Jill every day and night in London.
It's a version of Sex Pistol -- the girls were Punks originally - it means (bizarrely) penis. Looked into, much of what they did was subversive - below the surface.
Aren't they just the most stylish girls ever? I basically spend all my time trying to dress like them. My brother seems to think I'm succeeding!
