they're saying call like calling on a bet. It's Konglish or English adapted by Koreans and incorporated into the Korean language like fighting which sounds like hwaighting because of the Korean pronunciation and skinship.

Because of my love of K-dramas, I have been trying to learn Korean on Duolingo. I've been working with it every day for the last 233 days. I'm finally starting to recognize words and phrases, but for many common words and phrases, the pronunciation on Duolingo is quite different from what is spoken on the K-dramas. So I ask those of you who speak modern Korean; what version of Korean am I learning on Duolingo?
i dind t use duolingo , but both will be right.. in case of drama , it could be fast , so you might be felt it s different.. so, basic is duolingo, following k drama when you used to it
I don't use duolingo, but I teach Korean and usually what you learn in a textbook or program is formal and starts with basics as parts. Dramas are native level, phrasing IA in whole chunks, and usually include a lot of phrasing that is casual or colloquial so it won't be in textbooks at least until you reach a quite fluent level
@@bonbonbons You've got that right. Duolingo let's me play phrases at a slower speed for some exercises, and it amazes me what I didn't hear at normal speaking speed. I have a pretty good ear for language subtleties, but Korean is really a challenge for me. I'm determined, though, and just keep at it.
People have now started thinking me crazy because I speak a mixture of languages (bengali, hindi, english, korean, japanese, etc.) while speaking 😂😂😂. With different emotion comes a different language 😂
Honestly..these words are so easy to learn and you think you've become a pro in speaking Korean ☺️
It's the same with every language tho
