Hey, Is aromantic included in asexuality or the Ace community? I say "I love you" to a lot of people but I only say it platonically not romantically, so sometimes I have misunderstandings. I like to identify myself as Ace since I don't particularly feel romantically connected with people but I love to make friends also. Your video has inspired me so much rn :)
While aromantic and asexual don't always mean the same thing, the communities are very close. And you don't HAVE to split attraction into romantic and sexual attraction, so asexual can just mean "No attraction to others, period." If you feel the word accurately describes your sexuality, go for it! And I really am glad you enjoyed the video :3

I think I may be ace sexual because even though I'm young because I never really had a "crush" I guess it's what people would call a squish? I also didn't know people actually just saw someone and thought they were "sexy". Like to me that's messed up, you don't even know them and you have no connection. I have been questioning for a long time, and I think that I am ace! (Sorry for the long story)
Squishes are like crushes, sorta, but a desire for a platonic relationship rather than romantic one. That is about all I know on that term, tbh. And I absolutely feel that second point. There's a few ways of showing ace pride that aren't particularly obvious to non-ace folks. The black ring is nice, and not a lot of folks question it. Anything to do with spades. And the ace flag color scheme is actually pretty common in clothing/decor items.
I remember being very aware of ace-ness in my sex-ed classes, and being super happy when one of our subs mentioned asexuality as a possibility and (correctly) defined it for the class. I think my class was maybe a bit of an outlier, quality-wise, but I certainly hope that becomes less of a rare thing to bring up (alongside most anything besides cisheterosexuality).
I never really came out, so I don't have a ton of experience really but I can try. It depends on who you're coming out to, what they're like, what you're like... That's why so many people default to "what feels right." You know your situation best. That said. My initial plan to come out to my mom as non-binary was through a letter, that way I could say what I needed to without having to struggle with my anxiety (I had a panic attack the last time I "officially" came out lol). My mom and I are pretty chill with each other though so coming out sexuality-wise I did through a joke. Similarly, Dan Howell came out through an email and a lot of people come out through texts. Those options allow you to keep distance between the immediate reaction, but do prevent you from like, personally elaborating if you wanted to. If you wanted to come out irl then just like, saying it outright (as long as you know you'd be okay doing so) and then being prepared to possibly have to elaborate on what that means if they're not familiar with the label(s).
I wish you the best in figuring out what label(s) make you most comfortable and hope you know that no matter where you land, you've always got a community backing you up!

My parents dont know and I dont want to come out yet but I want to show pride
There's a few ways of showing ace pride that aren't particularly obvious to non-ace folks. The black ring is nice, and not a lot of folks question it. Anything to do with spades. And the ace flag color scheme is actually pretty common in clothing/decor items.

I found out that I was in health class when we were learning about sex-Ed
I remember being very aware of ace-ness in my sex-ed classes, and being super happy when one of our subs mentioned asexuality as a possibility and (correctly) defined it for the class. I think my class was maybe a bit of an outlier, quality-wise, but I certainly hope that becomes less of a rare thing to bring up (alongside most anything besides cisheterosexuality).

I never really came out, so I don't have a ton of experience really but I can try.
It depends on who you're coming out to, what they're like, what you're like... That's why so many people default to "what feels right." You know your situation best.
That said. My initial plan to come out to my mom as non-binary was through a letter, that way I could say what I needed to without having to struggle with my anxiety (I had a panic attack the last time I "officially" came out lol). My mom and I are pretty chill with each other though so coming out sexuality-wise I did through a joke.
Similarly, Dan Howell came out through an email and a lot of people come out through texts. Those options allow you to keep distance between the immediate reaction, but do prevent you from like, personally elaborating if you wanted to.
If you wanted to come out irl then just like, saying it outright (as long as you know you'd be okay doing so) and then being prepared to possibly have to elaborate on what that means if they're not familiar with the label(s).

Does anyone else find the ace flag to be absolutely hideous? Personally I think it looks dark and sinister, it could easily be a flag used by goths. Asexuals deserve a better flag to express their sexual orientation.
