It’s tough when starting out as it almost feels counterintuitive to not take on work even though you know they’ll be a pain. But you’re right, you have to be focused on where you want your business to go, how you plan to get there. The worst thing is to chase your take or race to the bottom. Great advice as always, Mike.
Thank you and best of luck to you
@@AllAboutPressureWashing thank you, much appreciated.
I just had to turn down a roof clean that would have paid great money. When I showed up to give the customer a quote, I found out they lived in a different state and were in a dispute with their insurance company about the roof. The insurance company was threatening to end the customer's insurance if they didn't get the roof cleaned. Makes sense, but the roof was metal, 100 years old, caked in rust, and beat to heck. It was a very obvious case of insurance trying to avoid paying for a new roof. I knew the second I sprayed anything onto that roof, the insurance company would try to say I damaged it, and I'd be on the hook for a roof replacement.
Im just about to get started. I pray God bless me with lucrative customers
Best of luck

Thanks Mike. I appreciate that

Definitely have to buy How to Wash. I have been cleaning windows for nearly 10 years. Recently expanded into moss removal/house washing/gutter cleaning. My main fear is causing damage, or not doing a good enough job. Hence why this course is something I will be purchasing soon.
Get it now!!
$350 is out target min.

you can win! SESW!!!!

Someone wanted me to pressure wash their property, do a full house wash, and clean a car port. No problem, I gave them a quote with my market-competitive prices and they started YELLING at me on the phone saying they couldn’t afford it. I said, if you want it done right, give me a call back. If you want it done cheap, go somewhere else. They never called back 🤷🏼♂️
Happens all the time. Crazy
done right? 😂 spraying water on a house is 90% of the time done right
@@jacobrinker8238 Sure, but those 10% are insurance claims if you don't know what you're doing. If you convey the risks associated with choosing a cheaper and less experienced house-wash service, most people are willing to pay a little more for peace of mind. Nobody wants to deal with scorched plants, repainting their house, or dealing with water damage.

It’s the foreigners you really have to watch

Excellent advice!
Glad it was helpful!
bid a job last week they wanted house wash 2400 sqft, driveway/poolarea 4700 sqft, and windows french pane with storm windows (204 panes). some guy underbid me at 800 and she was nice enough to let me know she went with someone else but thats a lot of work for that
Damn right it is
Well said Mike
👊🏻
everytime a customer says no to you is a chance for you to say no to another customer
im starting to think that you are the shogun of verbal judo
Yelp has tons of “customers” like this 😂
Yes!!!
When you clean windows do you charge $10 per window inside an out or $20 inside and out? Would $10 be the outside only? I’m just getting started
I hire based on looks. If a company has well used and maintained equipment, that tells me they're busy (experience & good service), and that they are professional (well maintained and clean equipment). If someone slouches up to me door in a hoody and their grammer sucks, I send them away. If someone shows up in a $110K truck, I also send them away, I'm simply not going to pay for their extravagance.
Mike, quick question. I did a Softwash on a house recently and they called back about some pieces of vine roots that were attached to the stucco pretty good and I told them the soft wash wasn’t enough to remove it from the stucco. what do you do in this situation? would you have just got a brush and scrubbed it off or what? Thanks. One more question. 4200 4.2 gpm pump but sometimes I etch concrete that’s a few years old, prob due to the psi. What’s a good tip that’ll drop my psi to like 3200? 25025?
I always roast these type of customers and I usually also make them think. I always tell them your saying, and that is “ cheap prices come with cheap results”.

Hey Mike! I clicked the link to enter the giveaway but because I entered the giveaway last month and used a different / wrong email It's not letting me enter my new email address. I have changed over my email address on quote IQ to the one I'm trying to use for the giveaway, how can I go about entering the giveaway with my correct email?
Yes My Father N Law
Can you guys give me tips and what I need to change? Just starting
Change or charge?
Heck yeah have minimum and my minimum is $250! Any tips or things I’m doing wrong? Thanks 🙏🏻

lol Mike. Wish you could have been a fly on the wall with me a few months back. I had the same BS coming from a perspective client and I simply got tired of their BS and told them to kiss my ass. Slavery ended in 1865. find a $99 dollar guy because I am not it. Turned around and left. I find it downright insulting when someone does that. Face to face even. The nerve some people have to do that shit to you face to face. Well, if someone is going to give me that sort of insulting BS to my face then I'm simply going to return the favor. Simple as that. My minimum service call is $275 dollars. If someone can't afford to pay that then they need to keep it moving and I will tell them that.
"Move along"
I bet they were picky foreigners

Did he ever answer that message? Is it better to reply in that way or to ignore the guy?
It just depends on how you're feeling that day I guess.

In my humble opinion, this is not the best advice. You will always encounter money-conscious clients. There are millionaires and billionaires out there who are "cheap" or simply money-conscious, whether out of ignorance or cultural norms-some cultures consider bargaining customary. Whatever the reason, you're better off learning how to kindly and politely educate the client. And yes, if they behave foolishly like the example mentioned, just politely say, "No, thank you." Leave your ego out of it and maintain your class. Half the journey in business is about the person you become along the way.
You lost me after the first sentence, but thank you for writing stuff that no one will ever read
@@AllAboutPressureWashing Thank you for the response, have a blessed day, friend.
gimme all y’all customers, cheaper don’t always mean low quality either but keep thinking like that😂 i’ll take volume all day. 10 jobs a week beats 3 high priced jobs u had to work xtra hard to even get 😂😂

I absolutely go by your advice on this from day one!! And ALL my house wash’s have been million dollar homes! Just finished a $3,700,00 Ticket! One man one truck one machine minimal equipment, but I turn all my profit into building a better trailer, and getting proper chemicals. @Southeastsoftwash you’ll be hearing from me!💪🏻🍒🍏
