Back in the 80s I built building in this area, seen building I built under water, feel so sad for these marvelous people, prays go out to them,

It's pretty sad to see the place that I grew up and down on Broadway completely underwater and knowing that all that area got flooded at such a way. I can't imagine how the county is going to recoupe.

this is part of a river course. in times of floods, your property is at stake. again prayers are lifted up for the flood victims
Then there would be nowhere else to build. Even St. Louis was flooded by the same storm. But you go right ahead and get houses for these people away from the flood plains.
I had to clean my grandparents house out we were right by the river it was crazy evacuating RIP those who died may you live on with God
Very sad to see this. I live in the city of Blumenau in Brazil, here we go through this problem a few times and it's very complicated to see this situation, because many people suffer from this problem of flooding. How is the situation today? Hugs to everyone in this city
My grandmother was from Breathitt. Has anyone flooded in Owsley?
My family in Owsley said their road had flooded a bit but did not make it to the home. They’re down in a holler. Hope this helps. 🤍

here in arkansas there's several companies headed out that way to exploit these people... they do it every time theres a disaster in the south.

Yes these geological features were created by floods so science is right again. Floods make flood plains and people like flat ground to build their cities on. A 500 year flood can happen every year but the chance is low, like rolling dice.
