Such a gentle unassuming presentation of a breathtaking arrangement…..Judging by the comments I was not the only one who was touched by this beautiful tutorial. Thank you😊
HI Jonny! I love this piece and class by John Proux!! How about an entire class, step by step all the way through this piece? Please bring John in for this project!! I really want to learn it all.
Because it's a slow paced ballade it gives you more time to actually think about what you're doing while playing and even plan ahead. I really like your thought process and the way you break it down. Quite naturally you add the interesting chord progressions while there are long notes or pauses in the singing, not to overshadow the singer. Great job overall.
Absolutely gorgeous! Please, please, please make an extended PWJ tutorial including the full transcription of the arrangement for this beautiful piece! Merry Christmas!
Gorgeous arrangement and performance of a tune I grew up hearing by Nat King Cole. It would be great if John P would expand this to a full course at PWJ, as he did with Misty.
Simply superb! I was born in Japan because of the Korean War and never knew of the referenced connection. I will certainly follow the quick tips to make this tune a part of my repertoire.
Wow. You hit the jackpot on this quick tip. A beautiful song, with detailed comments on chord substitutions, fillers, suggested recordings, even a little history of this beautiful song. Thanks for taking the time to put it all together.
Excellent presentation. I am asking a lot of your time but could you now demonstrate with this same piece how you would play all except the intro, solo and ending it if you were accompanying a singer.
Same way but omit the melody notes on top. Delete the last four bars and create an new ending similar to a turn around, cutting the dominant chord out and replacing it with a major chord. The singer sings the melody and there’s one or two chords that would have to either be changed or replaced, or inform the singer. Singers can be real pains in the you know what regarding reharms..
Any way you could write out the notes for the chords you are doing in your demo, going too fast for me to really dissect all the changes. Thanks so much

That was a gorgeous arrangement… Is it OK for a grown man to cry? OK, I’m crying now :-)!
John Proulx is quickly becoming my favorite instructor on this channel

I wish he would have had this tune written out in the chart
It's so much fun playing slower pieces, it gives you more room for improvisation.
