Cannot believe he's gone and right after we lost Kevin Conroy. JDF and Kevin Conroy... Both defined my childhood as amazing talents. Will forever miss them both. Rest in peace
He meant more to 90s kids than any Marvel "star." For many of us, he was our very first "hero." Tommy was a dastardly villain that could take on all the Rangers alone, and became the leader in the truest redemption arc. That's what makes a true hero, not just being the main character. What a legend.
Honestly, I loved the episodes where past rangers come in to help out. The episodes with Tommy are good, and I think that if there was a Power Rangers special planned to celebrate his legacy, I think that the one person to give him proper restect would be Austin St. John, AKA Jason. Also, I've always been a fan of Power Rangers as it's been a part of my childhood and even gave me inspiration to do martial arts. But, I honestly only got to Gold belt before having to drop out since my family was always moving. But, I'll always remember JDF not just as Tommy Oliver, but also as a guy who is an inspiration for kids and adults everywhere. May the Power protect you always, Jason David Frank. Your legacy will live on.

I have never cried over a celebrity death but this one hit my heart and I can't stop crying while watching this tribute to Jason David Frank my childhood hero
A legacy that will never fade away. There’s only one OG Tommy Oliver and that goes to Jason David Frank alone. That was an incredible shock over what happened to him recently.
Plus, Tommy does have a son (J.J. Oliver) that was seen in the OGN Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon and heard in 25th anniversary episode in Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.
He still had so many legacy to make in future too. Like the roles of lord drakkon, etc I wish he talked to someone rather than suiciding. But anyway R.I.P to his soul
To be honest, any moment with Tommy is iconic. He had a huge impact on my childhood as he introduced me to Power Rangers and quickly my personal favorite Power Ranger of all time. I didn't get to meet my hero but he'll remain a true veteran and the heart of Power Rangers as Iron Man was to the MCU.
I met him once at a convention, he was really nice, not just to me but to everyone. Spent time with everyone, didn't hurry them along like one of the other people I got an autograph for. Someone I'll always remember as being worth waiting for in a long queue. I regret immensely I'll never be able to meet him again. But I'll be forever glad I did get to meet him, even if only once. Rest in peace Jason. There were other great rangers but you will always be the best!
I love how Elsa broke the 4th wall asking is tommy is too old to be a pr. Something in reality that some of our parents caught us watching pr and asking the same thing
Rest easy, Jason David Frank. I'm a 90's kid and only 90s kids will understand just how he touched our lives. Nothing slapped like the Green or that White Suit, buddy.
Im a 2,000 kids who loved watching power rangers green was my favorite color and I always loved him I was mad when the red ranger became the strongest rangers in the other series
Watching Jason David Frank as the white ranger definitely is what made me love white tigers. I remember begging my mom to get the costume for Halloween as a kid. Thankful I still have the original mighty morphin power rangers movie. Rest in peace and power.
When I was a kid, my mom actually *made* me a Green Ranger costume (the only piece that she didn't make herself was the helmet). She then later gave it to one of my cousins once I was older so that one of my younger cousins could wear it. Even though it was so long ago, I still remember that old costume perfectly.
Similarly. Before the Rangers, I didn't even know there were white tigers 😅 However, after Jason's character became a white ranger, I found a magazine about white tigers and dreamed of seeing their live. How happy I was when I saw a white tiger at the zoo! 😅 And at the same time, when Jason's character became a white ninja ranger, I liked the falcons. And I also dreamed of seeing it live. How glad I was when, at the age of 27, I was traveling by train and on one railway platform I saw a man with a bird on his arm. I immediately realized that it was a falcon and got out of the train, fortunately the stop was long. I approached the man, asked if it was a falcon, he confirmed it. I asked him to hold it, the man transplanted the falcon onto my arm. I was overjoyed at that moment. R.I.P. Jason David Frank 😢 We will miss you.
I'm glad to see you're still on every damn video I click on, 'Stache. I just wish this time that it was under nicer circumstances :( Jason will be missed by all of us!
Right in the feels. All these episodes brought back great memories and for a franchise that wasn’t ever considered great acting JDF was definitely one of the best. RIP Tommy may the power live on forever 🙏🏽
I use to watch this show. I liked it, but also made fun of it at the same time. Looking back, I use to make fun of the 60’s Batman too with Adam West, but grew to love how campy it was. Now I’m rewatching the original MMPR with the same outlook. It’s so corny and campy are I love it.
@@madambutterfly1997 Kevin was the definition of Batman. While parents grew up on Adam West, Millennials such as myself grew up on Kevin Conroy. As for JDF, he was Tommy Oliver, I do want to see his last film Legend Of The White Dragon.
Thank you Jason David Frank for making our childhood’s awesome and inspiring us to be better. You showed us you don’t need powers to be a hero, you showed us even if you did one bad thing your past doesn’t define you. You set the benchmark for being a hero, now every hero has to match their credentials to yours. Thank you Jason you always said May the Power Protect You, now Jason all us fans say May the Power Protect You.
It’s so shocking that JDF is gone… but even now, his legacy as Tommy Oliver will impact generations to come. RIP, Jason… you weren’t just an amazing Power Ranger, you were the best Power Ranger, and the stories I heard of how you treated fans during events like Comic Cons and such confirms you were a hero off screen as you were on.
R.I.P. Jason David Frank. My friend and I were just talking about our memories of him when we used to watch power rangers as kids. Even till this day we still said as adults looking back at how he acted as a power ranger and just as a human being with his care for the franchise and the love he showed to fans. We said he definitely a great man in our books and we send nothing but love and prayers to his family. Lol one more thing, even as adults he made me still enjoy being a power rangers because even though it’s more of a kid brand it definitely something that as an adult I can still say Being a power ranger would be cool. R.I.P. Jason David Frank.🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿💪🏿💪🏿🙌🙌
I agree with the last guy I read. He was so cool as the green ranger even better as the white ranger I loved the sword Saba and the white tiger zord and the dragon zord was cool too
The Black Power Ranger from Dino Thunder made me a fan who never missed a single episode, all thanks to Tommy Oliver played by the great Jason David Frank. Rest in peace ranger, you'll be missed. 💔
Jason didn't know when to quit and I love that about his character. Giving up wasn't in his vocabulary. They gave him the right position in the group, the leader. Man, we took a huge hit with hearing of his passing away and took us off guard. It shows how depression can really impact someone’s life and can change one’s behavior as well. I pray whoever is going through this that it's ok to seek help. It does not make you weak. It makes you stronger and shows self-awareness. Believe me you're stronger than you know. Don't let anybody make you think otherwise. I know that problems can be overwhelming in the moment and it may seem that there's no way out of it but that problem is temporary. Taking your life is a permanent action that you can't come back from and you're separating yourself from the people who truly love you based on a false narrative that you don't matter. You matter a lot. You're life is precious. You are beautiful and strong. Trust in yourself that you can get out of it. You will. Sorry for the long paragraph. I felt compelled to write this. Rest in peace Jason. Definitely one of my fav power rangers. He inspired me to take up karate. This show really was a big part of my childhood. Thanks for the memories
good lessons all Another good lesson: be careful whom you marry. The incurable brain disease might have put a belt around Robin Williams's neck, but his ex-wife tightened it.
I used to watch him on TV as a kid, and to know that we're never going to see him again is a sombering thought. He's wormed his way into all of our hearts, and there shall never be another person like him who's captured our imaginations like he has. Rest in Peace Jason David Frank. I hope you're giving your brother up there in heaven a hug.
I remember thinking Tommy in the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers movie was the epitome of cool when I was a kid. This one hurts. Massive part of my childhood, thank you for making it that much more special. Rest in Peace King
This is what I like about Mojo, doesn't matter what character, scene or franchise. Their commentary is always in depth, genuine and flowing. Well done guys.
JDF was a real bully. He got into arguments with Austin St. John (the real Red Ranger) that lasted for years even when ASJ stopped responding. He was a petty and small man. I'm just sad that he wasn't half the man he played on TV.
I have been honest here. I GREW up with the Power Ranger show when I was just a kid... very first show. See them in action, robots, and stories throughout the franchise, eating breakfast on a Saturday morning. Seeing Tommy pass away, broke my heart...he was one of the pure souls of the Rangers. I cried down due to a great actor, a great person gone. I am now in my 20s, and I'll remember the man who has always struck us with the Green Ranger of the First Generation. Thank you Tommy and thank you Mojo for this great video. 🥲🥲🥲
RIP Tommy. I used to watch the tv show with my son when he was about 5 years old. He got really into the show, and I have to admit that I did too. Such a shame that his hurt was worse than anything else on earth. Jason will always be remembered as the Tommy character on MMPW. 😇
Gone way too soon. Children across both the world and across generations will never forget when they were first introduced to the green mighty morphin power ranger. JDF brought so much joy to an uncountable amount of peoples childhoods and lives in general. He was an incredible man with a heart of gold, it's truly devastating to know he took his own life. Rest in peace Jason David Frank and may the power protect you forever
I mean this in the most endearing way possible, he hammed it up 100% for this role (especially when he played evil Tommy). The amount of joy he brought to so many kids across generations cannot be understated. Just eternally grateful as a 90s kid that he was such a big part of my childhood. May he rest in peace.
Being a kid in the 90’s was definitely different. Seeing all our childhood hero’s kick the bucket is a real testament to how short life truly is & how we should appreciate every moment possible
RIP Jason David Frank, I still can remember the days watching him call the dragonzord as the green ranger with his dagger and I'd just be sitting in front of the TV imitating him as he played to call it in. When he came back as the white ranger it was epic because not only did he have a cool new suit but the first time he used his tiger sword and then called out the tigerzord I was freaking right out in the living room and lets not get started on when he got the falconzord, bruuuuuuhhhhhh he was my all time favorite ranger.
It's hard to watch any video featuring Tommy/Jason David Frank. I feel tears in my eyes because this man is a legend, the greatest Power Ranger and a mentor I wish I had
Once a ranger, always a ranger. RIP Jason David Frank. Thank you for giving us not only just memories, but the courage to make us stronger as children. He was such a fantastic human and we'll all leave with great memories for him. He will forever be a hero to all of us.
Its hard to describe what I felt as a kid when I used to watch Power Rangers and was especially drawn to the Green and White Rangers. He made them iconic RIP.
Today, a part of my childhood have disappeared. No one can replace Jason David Frank as a Power Ranger! He was clearly and simply the best! I watched only the first 2 generations of Power Rangers, but i was so addicted to the series and watched the movie tons of time! Just hearing him saying ''the Power Rangers!'' and his yell while kicking ''Hiyaa'' is giving me chills! He left everyone too soon and all my toughts are for his family! RIP Tommy Oliver! Thank you to have made my childhood more exciting and joyful!
This man was my hero growing up. Even after this tragic loss he is still my hero, always will be. Once a ranger, always a ranger. May the power protect us all.
How is he a hero? Who did he save? Austin St John is literally a humanitarian. Other people who acted in the show did great things too. I don't see how a man is a hero for portraying the same role for 3 decades. He's an actor.
@@surtrlombarde4243 he worked extensively with the make a wish foundation as well as during the pandemic set up a program to help keep small local comic shops open and funded. Just to name a couple things he did. I'm not sure why you're so angry. We all have a favorite ranger, they don't have to be the same.
Of all the actors who have been Rangers over the years, I think he was truly the epitome of being a Ranger IRL as well. MMA fighter for o few years, obviously kept himself in great shape over the years, did the "Jesus Didn't Tap Out" clothing and merch (which, not a Christian myself, but I can respect his faith), and just seems to be a truly, genuinely great guy who loved the fans as much as we loved him. I hope that Rita's final spell on him is truly broken now and he finds peace.
@@MarkBonneaux yes! It’s pretty obvious that he was proud of being a ranger. I felt like the other actors at one point in their lives didnt want to be known for being rangers or they weren’t proud, but I felt like eventually they came around. Jason David Frank however seems like he really loved and was proud of being a ranger from day 1.
He was the best Power Ranger that there ever was. He was a part of my childhood and so many memories as well. He will definitely be missed by so many fans around the world. RIP Jason David Frank aka Tommy Oliver.
Dammit man I can't believe he's gone. First my brother, now Jason. My big bro was the ultimate Power Ranger fan. At least they're together now. May they both R. I. P.
I had to wait a few days in order to watch this. JDF meant a lot to so many people in this world, he inspired so many people through this character, and who he was as a person. Every episode of Power Rangers that he's been on, I watched. I was lucky to meet him a few years ago. Paid for one autograph, and he liked my shirt so much he gave me a free second autograph. It just shows how much he loved and appreciated his fans. RIP Jason David Frank. Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger.
This was a beautiful tribute to the legendary Power Ranger Tommy Oliver. I remember watching some of the Power Rangers series when Tommy guest starred, especially the clone fight in Super Ninja Steel. Now I’m going to go back to all the Power Ranger episodes he was in and watch them. I still can’t believe this beautiful, wonderful person is gone, but his legacy and memory will forever live on in all his appearances in the Power Ranger Franchise. Rest In Peace, Jason David Frank. 😢😭
I can specifically remember getting goosebumps as a child when Tommy gets introduced as the White Ranger. RIP JDF. The OG Green and White Rangers will always be my favorite.
May the power protect you Jason. You made such an impact to millions of us in the 90s. We all wanted to be Tommy. You are loved and will be never forgotten. Once a ranger always a ranger
He was my childhood hero. When he became part of the show I was blown away. May he rest in peace and may the power protect him. He and the others in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers helped define my childhood and inspired me to try being a better person. He was an all around incredible person. He was the ultimate power ranger and legend.
Although, I was born in 1998, I saw Dino Thunder, and when I saw the episode where the Dino Rangers found out that Tommy has been there since the first series of Power Rangers, I was like, "Bet this guy is a legend." Seeing him in Super Megaforce and some battles after was awesome! I bet everyone, including me, misses him.
Tommy Oliver - the man who rose up from a mind-controlled henchman of Rita Repulsa to The Legendary Ranger who has gone through various Ranger forms of White Mighty Morphin, Red Zeo, Red Turbo, and Black Dino Thunder.
You didn’t even mention his first form as the Green Mighty Morphin Ranger. Green and White have become his 2 most popular forms of not the most popular out of all generations.
I used to watch all the MMPR shows, watched the movie, and even rented his karate DVDs from Blockbuster. RIP Jason David Frank. Thank you for being a positive role model for me and millions of other kids growing up.
Watching all these moments waters ups fast. I was there from the beginning, 8yrs old now 37. Green with Evil, Forever Red, to seeing him fight his evil robot self with the Master Morpher as an older Tommy was special. I've been awaiting to see his Legend of the White Dragon movie forever. He would do Facebook live and absolutely loved his fan base and was proud being a Power Ranger no matter any stigma or typecasting. Seeing him hug it out with admiration from Stan Lee really tells you something. Most of us didn't know him personally but to us, we saw him as this real life superhero in our childhoods... Family, and now we cry as family. Will miss him greatly...
Jason David Frank : one of the greatest childhood icons is gone. After Kevin Conroy's death this loss hurts even more. Both will be greatly missed... But as long as we live, and the nostalgia boom wil rear its head every few decades, they will NEVER be forgotten. REAST IN POWER, OUR HEROES. 🕯🕯
Rest in Peace JDF. May the power always protect you. I met him at a comic con years ago and it was an awesome moment. Now it's gonna be one I don't wanna ever forget.

He's not just one of their best actors but I think also one of their biggest fans. He appreciated the fans. I'm sad that he is gone but I am glad that he was here in the first place.
JDF was a remarkable human above all else and was always absolutely wonderful to his fans all the time. Never seen another celebrity be so interactive and outgoing towards the public. He was also an extremely impressive martial artist- the media has been showcasing his MMA career, but let's not forget his feats in the martial arts world, beginning when he was a child. Nothing short of amazing. The world lost a good father, friend to all, sensei, martial artist, actor, role model, and generally good man. May his spirit and legacy live on in the hearts of his many fans the world over, his students, and his children. Goodbye, Jason. 😞
The world nor the universe will never be the same without him. For a moment, I thought he could outlive all of us. I am really gonna miss him so much. To me, he will always be the number one Mightiest Power Ranger.
Shit that corkscrew kick took me back!! RIP to one of my biggest hero's growing upand as an adult. His commitment to power rangers will always be undefeated!
I was very numbed and devastated at first by his death. I cannot believe it! I used to watch Power Rangers on VCD and on the TV broadcast when I was a little kid back in the mid-2000s. Seeing Tommy Oliver got me mesmerized because of his fighting skills and acted as a Power Ranger. He was a national treasure of the Power Rangers franchise and my childhood hero. It breaks my heart that he's gone. R.I.P Jason David Frank/Tommy Oliver. Truly the greatest Power Ranger of all time. Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger. Forever and ever.
As a 90s kid, the Green Ranger was always the standout for me - the Dragonflute was the first Power Rangers toy my dad purchased for me. Thank you JDF for everything you did for the franchise and RIP to the best and most charismatic Ranger. Legacy lives on my guy x
Over the course of the video, I started to feel joy from the life Jason David Grank lived, as opposed to feeling mostly gloomy over his tragic death. He was a legend. Much respect for his effort in making the best of life and giving joy to others.
Tommy was such a great character from my childhood. From his start in the series as a villain to the legendary hero that he became, I knew the value of redemption, the importance of loyalty and how sacrifice can be harsh but necessary through him. RIP Jason, thanks for making my childhood awesome! 😓
Far and away the best Ranger the series has seen in its lifetime. I always kept up with JDF via social media and was absolutely stunned to hear of his passing. There will never be another like him.
I was a bit too young to remember him from the original series so for me, I realised he was a big deal when I watched Forever Red and Dino Thunder. If only because he became a mentor to another generation of rangers.
He was an amazing actor and in person he was down to earth, genuine, affable and amicable to his fans. Legendary ranger and greatest of them all. The franchise will certainly miss him and his awesome work. Rest in peace Jason David Frank aka Tommy. May your soul rest in peace. God be with him and his family. You and your work will never be forgotten.
Truly a wonderful testament to an iconic actor who inspired many by portraying an amazingly complex and layered character. Not many actors own the role so completely and thoroughly that no else can . Rest in Peace, Jason David Frank. Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger!
1991 born right here. Fan since 2 years old. Original theme song still goes the hardest too. 🤘
Shut up Who cares 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I heard he committed suicide. If that's true he won't rest
He was really something.
Watching Jason David Frank as the white ranger definitely is what made me love white tigers. I remember begging my mom to get the costume for Halloween as a kid. Thankful I still have the original mighty morphin power rangers movie. Rest in peace and power.
I was the Gold power ranger win I was a kid
When I was a kid, my mom actually *made* me a Green Ranger costume (the only piece that she didn't make herself was the helmet). She then later gave it to one of my cousins once I was older so that one of my younger cousins could wear it. Even though it was so long ago, I still remember that old costume perfectly.
Similarly. Before the Rangers, I didn't even know there were white tigers 😅 However, after Jason's character became a white ranger, I found a magazine about white tigers and dreamed of seeing their live. How happy I was when I saw a white tiger at the zoo! 😅
And at the same time, when Jason's character became a white ninja ranger, I liked the falcons.
Man was always ready to come back to the franchise. Rest easy, Jason.

I use to watch this show. I liked it, but also made fun of it at the same time. Looking back, I use to make fun of the 60’s Batman too with Adam West, but grew to love how campy it was. Now I’m rewatching the original MMPR with the same outlook. It’s so corny and campy are I love it.

In Memory of Jason David Frank (“Tommy Oliver”) 1973-2022, Pop Culture and the Power Rangers franchise definitely lost a great treasure
Yes they have sadly
Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger.
I picture him acting like Zordon in a new Power Ranger Cinematic Universe, leading a new generation to glory. I miss him...
The closest we got to that is Dino Thunder. And you know what? I'm okay with that.

Jason David Frank joins the likes of Peter Cullen, Robin Willams and Chadwick Boseman as iconic actors who can never be replaced.
